becoming master in control systems engineering control systems are part of everyday life they are used in the field of mechatronics and the process industry such as a robotic application in automation and combined control in temperature pressure and volume in a chemical process some applications are recognised imme diately others are inherently present in an application in the background the implementation of advanced control systems is the goal of a master in control systems engineering applying scientific principles to make processes work han university of applied sciences han is situated in the eastern part of the netherlands near the german border the twin cities of arnhem and nijmegen accommodate han one of the biggest and still growing universities of applied sciences in the netherlands two modern city campuses promote the exchange of knowledge between more than 27,000 students and 2,500 staff members and 2,100 international students.

applied sciences han is committed to educating control systems engineers who wish to apply control theory at master s level the master in control systems engineering programme focuses on applied sciences this implies that knowledge and techniques from fundamental research are applied in an industrial enviroment where complex processes require advanced control systems during the programme the student chooses between `mechatronics and `process industry where applied sciences take definite shape in the minor project and final master thesis the major project cooperation with industry associated large industries or specialised companies acknowledge the need for control systems engineers at master s level this is reflected in the support of companies like shell akzo ipcos and omron by providing trainers sharing knowledge and facilitating major projects and excursions han also cooperates with other institutes and universities such as delft university of technology wageningen university eindhoven university of technology and artemis/edulab by sharing professors and laboratory facilities this enables the level and substance of the programme to be continuously monitored the programme is also recognised by the royal institution of engineers in the netherlands as a master programme in the field of control engineering organisational responsibility han has overall responsibility for the organisation and content of the course all lectures are given in english on the han campus in arnhem for international students we offer a comprehensive study package including visa arrangement housing and an introduction to dutch culture and social life tools analyse manipulate identify model design controller implement process process uncontrolled controlled
