Sermon OF THE MONTH H os tile the assault on good and right Sadly, there is a growing hostility toward Bible-believing (King James Bible, specifically) Christians that hold to the absolute authority of God’s Word on the subjects of abortion, marriage, divorce, clothing, music, entertainment, homosexuality and technology just to name a few. To state kindly and yet emphatically, “Thus saith the Lord” pertaining to certain issues is to be insensitive, unloving and judgmental. You are labeled a holier than thou, legalistic hypocrite. The Bible has presently become “hate speech.” Those who dare stand where many once stood concerning the topics listed above are now objects of this intense hostility. Those who talk tolerance and love are the most intolerant and hostile toward those that simply believe as the antagonists once believed. “Generic Christianity is OK. A benign, therapeutic sermonette is acceptable. Just do not get specific." The world and even carnality will pass but if you start naming low cut necklines, hemlines, sleeveless, slits, mix bathing, beach going, Frozen, Rock and Roll style southern gospel contemporary church music, well they will rip your face off. Now it is important to clarify something at this point. This hostility presently flows from mainline denominational churches and even “evangelical groups” that once preached a conservative Biblical position on most, if not all, of these issues. Not only has Demas forsaken Paul, but Demas with this antagonistic attitude attacks those that adhere to the foundational fundamental Truths of the Faith. Just as liberals want to rewrite the Constitution, this New Christianity is rewriting the Bible. Just as the world wants to redefine marriage, this New Christianity wants to redefine Jesus, Church, Separation, and Sin. Sippin saints, fornication, adultery, and sodomy, well—that’s their “present world”. God forbid that any Christian in the name of love and tolerance call evil good and good 4•The Voice in the Wilderness - Fall 2014 Quarterly Edition

n evil (Isa. 5:20) This present world has raised up a voting block of “Christians” that love this present world. Tragically Washington, DC has garnered a constituency that stands for little and falls for everything. “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” I John 2:15. This continued conformity to the world only exposes the individual, the marriage, the home, children, churches and this nation to satanic attack. Presently, there is the “Alternate Lifestyle,” Alternative Medicine, and “Alternating Christianity”— This present world alternating between the world and The Word. Yes, we have Bible and has raised up a science corroboration here. In voting block of alternating current (AC) the flow of electric charge periodically "Christians" that reverses direction. A brief study of direct cur rent (DC) and love this present alternating current (AC) reveals many practical applications for world. DC versus AC. It is interesting in the world of electricity that certain laws are absolute. In the Christian’s life, God has given us His Word which is to be absolute in our faith and practice. In this present world the Lord allows man’s free will to remain after conversion. However, His Word is forever settled. When man finds his will subjected to alternating between this present world and God’s absolute Word, we must surrender to His Law just as electricity is governed by law. However, far too many in this alternating Christianity yield to the ways of this world rather than surrender to the laws of God. Winter was coming and the apostle Paul said, “Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world.” Paul made it very clear. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” (II Timothy 4:7-8). Obviously, Demas had alternated between God’s will and now chooses to love this present world. Paul has remained faithful and loves not the world, but loves the appearing of His Lord. Demas had not just forsaken friendship. Demas has forsaken fidelity and faith. More on @TheVoice_NC or visit •5

As the earth began to quake and shake, the mighty Vesuvius erupted and buried the inhabitants of Pompeii. Some were found in lofty chambers where they tried to escape death. Others were discovered in underground vaults attempting to hide from the scorching killer. But there was the Roman sentinel. Faithfully standing at his post where his commander had last ordered, the sentinel remained faithful. With earth trembling, fiery ash pouring down, the faithful sentinel was found a thousand years later, weapon in hand, still standing at his post. For some, death may come rushing upon them. For some, the sensual sirens of seduction—money, flesh and the world may try to sweep the soldiers feet away. But for some, they shall not be moved. Their friendship, fidelity and faith cannot be shaken. Demas loved this present world. In this present 21st century, there are those who have professed Christ, faithfully attended Bible-preaching churches, held offices from the pew to the pulpit, but presently love this world. In that state, they have grown hostile toward any and all that stand faithfully in The Old Paths. God has given the verdict. You cannot love this present world and love God the Father as well. • Real men walk with integrity. • You may be only one person in all the world but you may be all the world to one person. • You must be exhausted from watching me do everything. • You can not fix stupid. • You can have my gun when I run out of bullets. Maybe. 6•The Voice in the Wilderness - Fall 2014 Quarterly Edition

NEWS BITS FROM HERE AND THERE The Feds Fiddle While America Burns – It appears the federal government will waste another opportunity to protect America’s borders. Illegals continue to flood into this country bringing Mr. Obama’s “brightest and best” for America’s future plus crime, drugs, terrorists, slavery, TB, Chickenpox, Dengue Fever, Chikungunya and possibly Ebola. That says nothing about the overtaxing of the defunct American economy, education system, and other government resources. North Carolina schools now have an overwhelming number of students that list English as a second language. Texas schools hire teachers who speak Spanish to meet classroom demands. In Fairfax County, Virginia 40% of children do not speak English. Hospital Emergency Rooms are being overwhelmed by illegals. It is estimated that illegal aliens are costing the state of California over $25 billion annually. American citizens are being murdered by illegals and our highways record the deaths of American citizens caused by illegal aliens. Sadly, there is a trail of dead bodies left behind that never made it across the border. This does not even speak to the endangerment and violation of US property owners along the border areas. Washington, DC, seems totally impotent to enforce immigration laws currently on our books nor the ability to deal with this crisis. Sex Trafficking and Slavery – reports on the increase of slavery and human trafficking in Mexico. There is a direct link between sex trafficking and drug gangs. Women are often tricked into the trade or taken by force, and one in twenty are murdered. Mexican drug cartels made $10 billion last year from the enforced sexual exploitation and enslavement of thousands of women and girls. Millions of illegals flooding across the US border are not interested in assimilating and becoming part of the American culture and society. They are determined to overturn US laws and create a country America was never intended to be. Barack Hussein Obama knows quite well that illegals who refuse to assimilate destroy this country’s moral and spiritual foundations. Even as far back as 2008, Michelle 8•The Voice in the Wilderness - Fall 2014 Quarterly Edition

Obama’s quote reveals the intent: “Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we are going to have to change our traditions, our history; we are going to have to move into a different place as a nation.” NC Same-sex Mar ria ge – August 1, 2014, brought this announcement: NC Attorney General ends fight to defend state’s marriage amendment. The same-sex mar riag e amendment appeared on the May 8, 2012 ballot in the state of NC as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. Thus, “Same-sex marriage in NC was made illegal.” Now a federal appeals court rules Virginia’s samesex marriage ban is unconstitutional. Because NC is part of that 4 th circuit, the NC amendment may be overturned as well as the overruling of the people of NC. Forget the constitution and “We the people,” this country has been over-run by a minority of corrupt judges and purveyors of perversion. Recently my wife and I attended a marriage rally in Raleigh, NC. All was conducted decently and in order. Speakers did an excellent job, and their comments were clearly and kindly spoken. The rally was well attended with an obvious concern by God loving people for the direction our country has been taken by a small minority. I say minority because this year I have listened, as repeatedly, without solicitation, countless hard working, law abiding American citizens have said to this preacher they support marriage between one man and one woman for a lifetime. I have listed on numerous occasions the foundational truths this nation has stood upon for over 200 years. Yet, a minority has More on @TheVoice_NC or visit •9

hijacked this country determined to destroy all that is good and Godly. It is critical you stand and speak out. The Rule of Law – This culture of confusion has so muddled the waters of everyday affairs, it seems the average citizen is unable to wade through the complicated extremes. Take for example the U.S. Border issues. It’s now about the children and not the security of this nation’s borders and the flood of illegal entries in violation of written law and policy. Immigration law needs changing in lieu of compassion for the swarm of poor children crossing our borders in search of hope and life. This is confusion. State marriage amendments are confused by a perversion of socalled constitutional rights. The abortion issue is confused with so-called women’s rights. Homosexuality is confused with racial discrimination. The ice-bucket and fundraising is confused with ethics of stem cell research and the value of life. North Carolina new-agers say, “legalize marijuana to protect children because drug pushers don’t check ID’s to pedal their wares.” They always confuse the issue with lies about children. That’s like the fornicators having babies saying if you condemn me you are taking it out on the children. Again, a minority has over-ruled not only the people, but also what is foundationally right in this nation. Back to “The Rule of Law,” it is imperative that we: • Secure and protect U.S. Borders with present laws and immigration policies. • S t o p t h e l e g i s l a t i n g attacks by rogue judges on marriage and morals. • Halt the intrusion and attacks by the IRS upon conservative people and groups. The Veterans Administration versus Obamacare – There are some 300,000 employees involved in the Veterans Affairs scandal. Can you believe there has been talk about privatizing some of the Veterans Administration? In the midst of all the Obamacare t a ke ove r o f t h e A m e r i c a n Healthcare system, a federal government scandal sees the need for privatization. This VA tragedy, along with Medicare, Medicaid, social security, USPS, welfare, food stamps, and a multitude of entitlements is simply proof that the federal government cannot properly nor efficiently manage much of anything. Be Not Deceived - The Voice in the Wilderness has continually 10•The Voice in the Wilderness - Fall 2014 Quarterly Edition

warned believers concerning the deceitfulness of this world and sin. It was almost laughable when Christian school and church parents were deceived by the socalled "innocence" of Hannah Montana and Brittany Spears. I still have on file, articles I used in the pulpit of a Christian school chapel warning the young girls about the subtle deception of Hannah Montana and Brittany Spears. Mothers even got hostile saying, "the preachers don't want the girls to have any fun. The preacher is against everything." Quite the opposite. It seems far too many in the church have no discernment or simply rebel against what they know to be the truth. That was seen when some pastors and churches reserved the movie threatres to view the Hollywood/ Catholic "The Passion of Christ." Now church families have "gone wild" over Disney's "Frozen" and Christians plaster on social media their "Let it go" lifestyle. It appears some parents and pastors will get on board with any and everything the Devil pipes out of Homosexual-promoting Disney or Hollywood. Are Christians so shallow today they must dump every bucket of ice water on their heads this crazed world conjures up in its depraved head? BE NOT DECEIVED. Home-Grown Terrorists - Great Britian and the Unites States are producing Islamic terrorists. Douglas MacArthur McCain's death in Syria is only a cultural indicator of the tragic results of the internal take over of America's mind and heart. Ban God and the Bible from schools, breed a culture of "selfies" and in will flood unimaginable horrors. The U.S. and England have broken the "hedge" and the enemy invaded. Now this global evil abides within. Once "God Bless America" is now "God have mercy on America!" “One of the most important documents a man ever signs is his will. I can tell better what a man had in his heart by reading his will than I can by reading his obituary. His obituary tells the world what his friends thought of him; his will reveals what he had in his heart.” - A. M. Vollmer For as (a man) thinketh in his heart, so is he- Proverbs 23:7. Out of (the heart) are the issues of life - Proverbs 4:23. T Ten Commandment lessons More at en Commandments “But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matt. 22:34-40) One commentary says that the scribes divided the law into 248 affirmative laws to correspond with the number of the members of their body, and 365 negative laws to correspond with the days of the year, making 613 commandments, the number of letters in the Decalogue. The scribes considered some great and some small, so in this context Jesus was being tempted as to whether He was in harmony with accepting truth or not. Of course in these commandments Jesus is giving the sum of all divine revelation and responsibility. The question stands to be asked, “If the Ten Commandments are outdated, Old Testament or legalistic for our day of Grace, why did Jesus not make that clear to the Pharisees and Sadducees rather than summarizing the weight of responsibility demonstrated by the Decalogue? Go ahead and beat yourself up over this Law versus Grace when that is the wrong mindset from the start. “…his delight is in the law of the Lord.” As a young man I enjoyed fishing and hunting with my Dad and granddad. There were “law enforcement officers” that would make surprise checks to see if we had a license, my pump shot gun had a plug and only held 3 shells. There were many other laws we were required to abide by. If not, consequences could be severe. But I always remember when the “lawman” left we happily continued to hunt or fish. The “law” gave borders and boundaries for a safe hunt and fishing trip. As a matter of fact as a young boy I thought the “Ranger” was a cool guy. I respected him and somewhat envied his job. Should not every Christian say my “delight is in the law of the Lord?” 12•The Voice in the Wilderness - Fall 2014 Quarterly Edition

A Refreshment for You...

p. 14

Dear Faith Partners, God uses poetic form and writing in five of His Old Testament Books, as well as poetry in several of the Poetic Books. Job, Psalms, Proverbs, The Song of Solomon and Lamentations are almost entirely poetic. Obviously this was important to our Lord in the communication of Truth. It has been our privilege to live in Western North Carolina for eighteen years next door to the Great Smoky Mountains. All around us is such beauty and yea, poetry, in God’s creation. Frequently the Lord Jesus went into the mountains to refresh Himself. If this was needful in the earthly ministry of Christ, surely it must be vital to our mortal existence. From Mt. Moriah and Mt. Calvary to the Mount of Transfiguration and the Mount of Olives power and purpose issue from these poetic sights. Scripture speaks often of the flowers and plants that God has used to adorn His meadows and mountainsides. The Rose of Sharon and The Lily of the Valley illustrate the depth of love. Jesus used a carpet of lush green grass to set the stage for His miraculous banquet for 5,000 hungry souls. In this edition of The Voice in the Wilderness, I invite you to “come apart” from this world of struggles and enjoy a time of refreshing. Just the everyday routine and responsibilities of life can be overwhelming. That says nothing about the suffering, tears, wars and death from every corner of the globe. Let us enjoy His presence, if just for a few uncrowded moments. Smell the roses, climb the heights and breathe freely the refreshing of heavens celestial air. With pen, poetry and a portrait of our Lord’s creation, we present within these humble pages a gift just for you to enjoy. For Christ and Souls, Ronnie Williamson Isa. 40:31
