2 during their english lessons in february 2011 year three wrote their first stories of the year after reading the story of the shipwrecked sailor an ancient egyptian myth the childre were inspired to have a go at writing their own myths we edited and improved our myths trying to add connectives paragraphs and better descriptions to our writing this project also included our first real opportunity for word processing in the year the myths are included in the book as they were written by year three we hope you enjoy reading them mr bancroft

5 tom and the three headed snake a long time ago in a ship wreck there as 40sales one of them was called tom he was the bravest worrier in the whole wold suddenly he herd a storm it was strong storm then their was a massive wave coming into the ship they crashed into a rock the waves picked him and pushed him onto the shore tom got up and looked around he had a wonder through the jungle it was full of fruit and vegetables it was lick they new i was coming to this inland .tom waked around then tom new he was in the wrong pleas tom got out his sword and ran for his life tom grabbed some fruit tom knottiest something was wrong then he remembered he was in the snakes burrow tom got out his sword and shield and triad to stand up to the snake then tom herd a soared it was the snake the snake was fires massive snake tom hit the snake twice in a row the snake fell on the flor the snake was knocked out so tom freed the beast from the evil little spell when the three heeded snake woke up it gave it one of its baby snake later a ship came to get tom from the inland when he got back tom fed the baby snake the end by adam pickering

6 a long time ago there was a wanderer called amem-ne-hat one day amem-ne-hat went on a ship to try to discover a land that know one had found before all of a sudden there was a huge ship wreck amem-ne ­hat was great at swimming so he swam to the sure all of a sudden amem-ne-hat saw something moving in a cave amem-ne-hat shouted hello but know one replied back so he tried again hello but still nothing so amem-ne-hat .slowly walked in he saw a shadow but he thought it was just a lion but when he looked it was a lion with three heads and it could also talk he did noticed that it was green amem-ne-hat was not afraid any more so he walks in the cave the lion turned around and said hello amem-ne-hat i am not skerd of you amem-ne-hat walked fowed s the lion ran out of the cave and in to the forist you will never catch me because the lion had said that amem-ne-hat ran even faster all of a sudun amem-ne-hat puld out a sword from his bag and started to hit the lion with it then amem-ne-hat chopt of the lions head just then the whole florist turned white and the lives turned in to guwls meanwhile amem-ne-hat walked though the forest and saw a gold bar so he picked it up and blessed the gods when amem-ne-hat got home he went to the pherow and the pherow was so expressed that he gave him a lot of money from that day onwards amem-ne-hat was grateful for everything the end by becky ward.

7 ben and the giant serpent a long time ago there was a boy called ben who was in the army one day he was the only person that had survived after a battle so his gift was to become king he was a very special king too when he was king he thought of a challenge he thought of going on a ship to an island unknown but would he do it was he brave enough to go out there all alone he thought and thought but he didn t know then he knew he would do it and he dreamed that he would see a frightening serpent but he didn t the days passed on the slim slimy snail boat then he knew the weather it was a tempest and the tempest was bad so the tempest blew them onto a giant rock all the men had perished but he was still clinging onto a rock and a piece of wood and a giant wave threw him onto an island he was terrified then he was amazed but then there was a loud noise but there was no wave even then he i was more scared than ever because a sea serpent went and showed its teeth right next to him at first he thought it was going to eat himself alive but it didn t it actually talked to him in a silent voice that said challenge over and over again but he had to do it so he said he would that was totally a dream but would it come to life he dreamed again it said meet me tomorrow so he slept over night on that very day the sea serpent was in golden armour it had giant teeth and thirty two cubits long but he had to do it and this is when the fight began the serpent tried hard to eat me but it missed then at the right time he swung his own battle axe and chopped the serpent s head off he had victory and was rewarded the serpents golden armour after many years a rescue boat appeared in the murky waters at last it was going to bring me home but ben still wanted another adventure but that s another story the end by ben croshaw

8 hex and the monster a long time ago a man named hex with a crew on a ship was sailing to the mines of ancient egyptians a tempest approached and smashed the ship but hex flung onto this island when his men perished one day i was brought to the kings room on the inland the king told him the land was cursed by monsters the people could a virus and turned to fast strong pale and unbeatable monsters i want you to kill them so hex set off and checked his guns swords and sharpened his arrows on the way to the dark creepy buildings were they live he got some advice when he got the buildings he heard screeching he entered the building he walked until screech the monsters jumped out at him but he moved hex moved he couldn t see anything then the babies jumped he cut of there heads but the mother of the baby monsters was furious it jumped at him then screech the monster got through glass and burned he got gold and medicine to cure people he got this stuff from the chest in the building he took the head of the monster and took it to the king and the king said you can marry my princess good said hex the end by bradley nobrega

9 mr bumble and the warrior a long time ago there was the team of knights the knights walked and walked i was one of the knights but i was so tired and sweaty until they found a castle i found some guards out side i stabbed them booth with a knife one at a time i picked them booth up and threw them booth at the same time we mr bumble are trying to kill him well mr bumble was fat mean and horrible was a alien hes got one eye 1000 teeth ,one makes him stronger a blue cape also red and black eye if somebody tries to shoot him his boots will make him fly he started to walk out he had 4 i sneaked past him and stitched all of the armour he went back outside but he was stronger lets fight now i stabbed him mr bumble fell slowly to the ground i ruled the whole world the end charlie calder by

10 the hunter and the serpent a long time ago in ancient egyptian times there was a hunter he was discovering out a talking serpent he was in a cave because some warriors trapped him in there he was going to go some where and then they just got him and tuck him away he was on a quest to get out of the cave and to go fishing and get something bigger than a shark a few minutes later he got out of the cave and went down to the lake he made his own boat by getting some bark off a tree then he went to put his boat into the lake and sailed then he felt something in the water he quickly swung his rod out and caught it the hunter couldn t believe it he actually caught something bigger than a shark because he caught a serpent it was trying to get away but then it talked to him then the serpent was trying to eat him but the hunter wasn t scared because lucky he had a sword and tried to defeat the serpent on the beach but then he actually defeated it the hunter was amazed he went running around the beach like a crazy chicken but just then he stopped because he realised that he actually hadn t killed him the serpent had just fell over then he got up again but suddenly the hunter quickly stabbed him and this time the serpent was dead after he had killed him the hunter pushed him back into the sea and got back on his boat and sailed back to egypt and had a happy life with his wife and children the end by ellie slaney

11 a long time a go a ship was sailing a cross the sea there was another boat that crashed on one of the boats there were fifty sailors the captain was called tick tock and on the over boat there were twenty sailors every one on the boat with fifty sailors died but every one on the over boat sieved .the people on the boat with twenty sailors well there boat was broken so there was a leak in the boat the captain jumped out of the boat to mend it then they were off again and then the sun went down everyone on the boat went to sleep the captain forgot to tie the boat to the side then the ship floated away and then the captain woke up and he woke his crew and they crashed on to a little island and everyone climbed out of the boat and they saw a castle they decided to enter the castle there was a little guard so tick tock got his sword and sharpened it all of a sudden the big door opened then everyone got really really frightened but captain tick tock was brave and he went in all of his crew went back to the boat then the captain saw a guard so he sharpened his sword and killed the guard then he saw a greedy old elf afterwards the greedy old elf asked me what i was doing in the old castle because nobody had ever entered before after they had a chat he went to get me a cup of fizzy lemonade then all of a sudden he turned around and he slipped on a patch of blood all of a sudden his face turned dark red then he stood up and glared at me then i sharpened his weapons and he got his weapons and we started to fight he got me down on the floor i got reall angry so i called my crew to help me defeat him and we won then we went outside but before we went out we went to see if there were any treasures in the castle and there was gold by ellie stevens

12 talliriktug and the talking shark a long time a go in ancient egypt times there lived a great warrior called talliriktug he was brave as a night and the people loved his tales about great people but he wished that he could be like the people in the storys one day the pharaoh called him to go on a quest to find a shark but not an ordinary shark a talking shark in return he would have jewels and gold the next day talliriktug set of on his journey and he had 100 sailors and he felt really good and proud as they set off one of the sailors thought it was going to be a lovely day but then we heard a big growling noise and just then a tempest rose in the air and crashed on to the boat and the 100 sailors fell off the boat with a splash and drowned he was the only one left and he grabbed the nearest piece of wood and then a wave struck him over the broken boat on to the sand when talliriktug was on the sand he quickly scrambled under shelter because it was a really hot when night fell he soon fell asleep ready for a big day tomorrow i suddenly woke up by a wining and groaning sound but he thought it was another wave but then he saw the most terrifying animal he d ever seen it was a talking shark it was as big as a giant and a flat it s teeth were as sharp as the sharpest rocks it had a very sharp fin and his growl was like a roar from the king of the loins he had grey and black skin and it was all wet from the sea suddenly the talking shark took talliriktug in it s jaws and carried me to the nearest cave he put talliriktug down with a thud but the talking shark didn t hurt him sorry said the shark i didn t mean to do that he said after the talking shark said that he looked at him like he had never seen a human before then talliriktug looked at the talking shark like he had never seen a talking shark before i haven t seen a human before said the shark it doesn t

13 matter i replied but i haven t seen a talking shark before mmm that is all right said the shark late that night talliriktug woke and saw the shark looking up at the stars what is the matter i said the gods are telling me you have to go he replied no no i don t want to go he said no no not tomorrow in two weeks time he said a week past and talliriktug had a great time he quickly learned how to catch fish and he couldn t wait to show his friends as well as learning to catch fish he got to see the sharks family but talliriktug didn t now his family so he got a bit sad in the end two weeks past by and the day talliriktug had to go was finally here and sailors were from egypt like the shark said but talliriktug had forgotten so he went to the shark and said what are they they are from egypt the shark replied oh he said a few moments later talliriktug went on the boat and the king came as well and he gave him some jewels on his way back talliriktug saw something very strange the island disappeared and talliriktug learned that he doesn t need to be scared of everything again the end by emily culshaw

14 tony and the t-rex a long time ago in ancient egypt there was a swat guy and his name is tony and he lived in a city near a pyramid there was 1000 people who lived there one morning when he woke up he saw he was in the pyramid he was terrified but then he herd his friends saying tony tony where have you been and tony said when i woke up i was in the pyramid but i don t know how i got hear but suddenly all 4 people fall in to a trap with a t-rex tony hung on and saw a rope he got the rope and helped his friends and shot the t-rex with an ak-47 the t-rex fall down thay ran away but when they got out of the pyramid it was icy but then the t-rex came one person got eat tony was so angry he arowed the t-rex ran away when tony was going to sleep he heared a banning noise outside i wander what that is said tony so he looked outside he saw his city was getting destroyed people running away but then his tower fall down and he squashed one his friends and he said to him self when i shoot the t-rex it never dies traits funny but now i ve got two friends left i will battle the t-rex next morning the battle began tony got his ak-47 44 magnem g18 and shotgun he shot him everywhere the t-rex screamed in terror and died and everything was back togever again the end by euan ibbotson

15 lucy lou and the sea monster once there was a little girl called lucy lou she was set a tricky challenge to find some treasure.she was on a ship when she heard a terrible noise the wind picked up and the waves got bigger and stronger then a giant wave smashed it to pieces the wave melted in the sea .she suddenly remembered what she was looking for the sword of the sky and the shield of the sea then all of a sudden a giant green sea monster crashed out of sea and headed towards the beach she was very frightened she stood there shaking then out of the corner of her eye she saw a flicker of light she spun around to see what it was she d forgotten about the monster still heading for the beach she saw a cave and went to investigate suddenly she remembered about the monster she quickly scrambled into the cave the monster stopped and looked around with its sharp eyes .it was as big as seven mountains it was as long as seventeen wiggly worms and its teeth were as sharp as needles whilst in the cave lucy lou was trembling .it was so dark she went around the next corner and there they were shining brightly the monster was very angry he poked his head into the cave the light of the shield was blinding him he came out of the cave he was determined to kill her the little girl came out of the cave and started to fight she creeped up behind him and stabbed him in the back he roared in pain as he collapsed into the sea the little girl cheered just then a boat came to rescue her she was safe at last the ship took her back to egypt she went to see the king he was amazed the king gave her a chest of gold .she was delighted she bought lots of food for the family her mum was so happy to see her dad gave her a great big hug and her little brother gave her a present the end by freya duckers
