frankie oatway frankie paul oatway born august 17,1961 is a british actor, writer director.producer that i ve been following for the past year i find his road to success inspiring in so many ways and very interesting to say the least i am going to be observing and following this mans journey every step of the way into his new career in the entertainment industry i posed the question how did you get to where you are today to mr oatway and he took off with it his journey started at a very young age along with struggling to keep up with the educational elizabeth cole entertainment journalist requirements in his school frankie also had to cope with the fact that he had lost his father to a constant battle with cancer when he was just 13 years old he dropped out of school at this time in his life he didn t have a father when he needed him most his mother rosy who was born into a family of florists recently passed away in 2005 who still plays a major role in frankie s life today for many years she was struggling to cope with the death of her husband georgie frankie remembers her as a loving caring woman who he wont ever forget .he never new how to cope with the loss of his father and no idea of how grief would effect him .it left him as always growing up and to make decisions for himself and to try and understand how to deal grief alone soon after withdrawing from school at the age 13 and on the advice of the headmaster he new he would struggle to find any way of making money the learning difficulties he struggled with while at school were soon going to resurface when he left frankie was illiterate he also suffers from dyslexia and for many years he managed put on a brave face and pretend he was as bright as all the other children in those days the schools never really picked up on it in fact i was even unaware i had it i was just going through the motions trying to keep my head down kids can be quit intimidating when you cant read .my memories of school were not very good ones i m afraid in fact i dreaded it i couldn t even tell the time if i was asked id pretend obviously getting it wrong every time he explains .however the headmaster new of the problems with frankie s father so he became a lost cause to the education system in london the headmaster was left with no alternative but to allow frankie to leave and to try and help his mother .even at this young age he would try and bring some money into the house to help rosy i must have done every job you could think of .i was ducking and diving even at 13 years of age he smiles.one of many examples was working in the markets and outside the pubs or bars in london selling fruit even at this young age he made sure everyone new he was there he was already 3

frankie oatway showing signs of not only selling hes goods but entertaining the public .you tend grow up very fast on the streets of london and thinking on my feet was and still is one of my best qualities although i wasn t much good at reading i could sell a black cat to a which he laughs .my dad was the entertainer he explains he could sing tap dance play the piano the accordion and the spoons only in the pubs of course.the pub or booza as he puts it was my dads boardroom office his stage he could sell anything that s just how it was in elizabeth cole entertainment journalist those days and the local pub was the only place the lower classes could express themselves and do business he was a little tough guy but he had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone .he was from the old school .and i still have fond memories watching him from the doorway of the pub while he conducted and performed 4 .this was very entertaining to say the least he laughs frankie soon found himself on the wrong path a road with no success on it once he realized this he decided to join the british military he wanted to be the best so he joined the parachute regiment and realised he was receiving a form of education he was unable to get at school .the determined oatway was extremely fit so he became a physical training instructor or pti as he put it .he also specialised in weapons .during his service he also completed more than 150 parachute descents he also had special attachments within the armed forces .this new life choice to join the army opened up frankie s eyes to people that had gone through what he went through the poor economic stance and even poorer cities that they came from in london even when he left and because of hes reputation and personal recommendations in and away from the military he worked with some very important clients on the security circuit protecting even royalty who visited the uk from overseas such as king fahad of arabia and hes children protecting them from any direct threat frankie became someone who you could trust with your life his ability to be self taught shaped him to be the man he is today after interviewing him i came to be fascinated with the college scholar and hardworking man sitting before me who also told me about his past careers and accomplishments such as being a very successful and creative property developer frankie is also a builder by trade he went on to complete a city and guilds training programme to his amazement he not only qualified as a bricklayer but with a distinction i specialised in extensions conversions and refurbishments there is nothing i cant build he explains but still with no previous theatrical connects other than building the sets for the bbc british broadcasting corporation frankie went on to become a highly respected set builder within the studios and receiving designers merits for his work he became well known to all the set designers and producers for most if not all tv productions at that time designers like daker punt john bristow/graham lough and many more the shows he regularly got known for working on were some of the biggest the bbc produced only fools and horses/allo allo the two ronnie s dr who top

bill greene on frankie oatway frankie oatway formerly from london england wisely capitalized on the international networking power of social media and used facebook to reach out and introduce himself to various actors and producers in the united states eventually he connected with a producer in colorado bill greene who could relate to frankie s ability to reach out and share his passion at the time bill had already partnered with colorado sag actor paul neal rohrer and launched a new weekly online radio program about the `behind the scenes of film tv and the performing arts called the roaring success radio hour by the time he and frankie met bill had already brought on dozens of industry leaders and actors on to the show bill and paul share a mission on their website rsuccessradio.com which talks about personal growth and networking having seen frankie s efforts they invited him on to share their kindred minds about the topic after connecting with frankie and after sharing with him on the show it s apparent that he s always thinking of others even `though he s avidly promoting himself as an actor aside from having a marketable acting talent frankie genuinely connects with people this is what paul rohrer is so good at combine a craft with the ability to be alert to how to connect and serve others is the key to success in any field in my opinion said greene when we fail to remember that well we just fail frankie has kept in touch with bill and paul since his guest spot on their radio show he s also since had many setbacks which according picture of bill greene left lily tomlin center and paul neal rohrer right when we met with her after her performance to talk about roaring success radio hour lily was our first major introduction to our then new program since then we ve had on carol channing tippi hedren clint howard jennifer o neill steve railsback and many many more industry leaders including frankie oatway to bill are quite common in the industry you have to deal with the narcissists who have their own deep personal agendas it s the old hollywood lore many of us hear about frankie s already been hurt by it but he s only tougher for it he ll be a major character player on the big screen that s my prediction and i don t predict such things casually those interested in listening to the roaring success radio hour may tune in to www.castlerockradio com every wednesday to listen to top industry guests on a wide range of topics they may be contacted at www rsuccessradio.com 9

my man frankie its been a brilliant ride so far only to get a bit wilder in the future i expect my relationship with frankie oatway began on a whim via angie bowie bless her heart i discovered his trailers for no love for harry via ian mclennon shipp tainted with sceptic angst at ever having another thing to do with film making of any type this all dissipated when my man frank came along and lit the fire under my tail and breathed a bit of new life into my creative lull i now have a vigorous passion for making films and videos music and for working alongside him in our venture into film and artist production and promotion for this renewed sense of artistic exuberance i thank you frankie oatway you are a gem of a man a brilliant soldier a proper horse of a fellow a real jack the lad you are sensitive to the needs of those around you and i adore your ability to make a seemingly helpless situation come through the other side in proper form new relationships with people in the entertainment field have been blessed with my association with frankie having written several spec scripts with two on the table both starring frankie in the lead roles i was miss bowie s web page i dug them immediately!i was promptly thanked profusely by himself and from there it bloomed i now am partnered up with frankie in a production and independent film promotion company called the london underground film group we are expecting to launch our website in mid march 2011 we will specialize in music video production independent film production and the promotion there of along with promotion for new actors writers and artists of all types and all genres i myself being rather sceptical of 10

john barrymore on frankie oatway i ve been around show business all of my life my parents were both working actors hell my family s been in the business for two hundred years i ve even got a kid sister who s a bona fide movie star these days i teach acting and speech let me rephrase that to say i run an acting class i m the first one to admit that i can t teach anyone how to act neither can anyone else i m just willing to admit it i audited classes at the actors studio in new york back when lee strasberg was teaching i saw a lot of angst but for my money `the method is the worst of all the various theories of acting that are heaped upon the unwitting beginner at least at the royal academy the actor learns how to speak and how to control her body two very useful and entirely necessary skills as to the psychological aspects of the craft that s for the actor to discover on his own no one can teach it though many can stifle it and can prevent the nascent actor from discovering it that s what most acting teachers do at least here in hollywood any individual is just that individual unique and the discovery of the craft of make believe or rather re-discovery for we all were adept at it as children is a unique path for each of us there is no method no one-sizefits-all technique or secret going to an acting teacher to learn how to act is as futile as going to a priest to find god all you will get in return is useless dogma but just as an acting coach or a 11 director can stifle an actor s discovery of his own technique likewise that coach or that director can establish a working environment conducive to the discovery process that s what i try to do in my own classes meanwhile i can teach them the tricks and there are many many tricks techniques of film or stage acting that every experienced actor has figured out or learned from those that went before not the least of these is how to speak and how to stand for the things an actor needs that can be taught are good speech dexterity of movement and awareness of one s body the rest is immaterial ethereal if you will no one no authority can predict with any degree of accuracy who will or will not be able to discover their own process one need look no farther than to jack nicholson s early work in such roger corman classics as the raven with vincent price nicholson was not merely bad he was abominably bad he looks completely lost yet nicholson became an astoundingly good actor thankfully he persevered no authority figure convinced him to find another line of work conversely there are those for whom the craft of acting is second nature they step on stage or in front of a camera for the first time and it s as if they ve been doing it all their lives when i met frankie oatway he struck me as such an individual these are the lucky ones perhaps they learned the craft in the course of their `straight careers as auto or insurance salesmen or sometimes as in frankie s case it s the sheer size of their personality it s too big for real life only film or stage can comfortably house a personality of such dimension frankie s got a terrific career ahead of him playing tough guys heroes and villans alike like many who inhabit that niche of the dramatic arts frankie s a pussycat a gentle giant with a heart of gold but when he turns on the menace it s as scary and as natural as any earthquake or hurricane.
