Our project Water is everywhere in our lives and a fascinating topic. Natural phenomena, such as water fascinate us all, particularly children. There is no life without water and water is found in many topics: arts, music, science, traditions, health, environment, nature and weather, games … The children involved in the project represent the generation who has to understand the importance of water and to respect it as a vital resource for man and mankind. Through the project’s activities students learn to love water and nature and the projects’ outcomes will draw attention to the local and European community and they will be implied in our effort to keep water clean for all life. We study how water is used in the everyday lives of our pupils and their families and show the importance of this valuable resource for us all, leading to a greater understanding and knowledge of the need for conservation. We work together as European partners and reaffirm in our pupils the necessity for respect and positive attitudes towards people from other cultures. We show how water is used according to each people’s culture, how we could change the population’s mentality towards this important resource for mankind and the environment and how we can preserve it for the future generation. In May 2014 children from all partners collected sayings around water in their mother tongue. In this booklet you can find some of them, illustrated with drawings made by pupils.
