direct access into master of science programmes in business studies since 2005 and in conjunction with the universities of brussels and maastricht nhtv has been offering students who have successfully completed the nhtv scientific pre-master sbm in their last year at nhtv direct access to business-related marketing or management master of science programmes at a number of academic universities the sbm pre-master is an upgraded fourthyear graduation programme of 60 ects for professional bachelors it formes the bridge between the professional bachelor level and the scientific academic master of science level this means that sbm students have the opportunity to pursue a master of science degree at an academic university without the compulsory transitional premaster programme at the universities themselves required for access into scientific programmes this programme leads to a double degree 1 the nhtv htro diploma states the three-year professional bachelor programme at your nhtv academy itmc hm m&em ilm slm etc the nhtv pre-master strategic business management marketing is featured as the area of specialisation in your graduation year 2 the sbm certificate granting direct access to msc programmes in maastricht and brussels double degree are you looking for a challenge are you ambitious hard working then here is your big opportunity reach for that academic title formerly known as `doctorandus title in one year after your nhtv pre-master graduation a distinct advantage of this programme is the time factor the sbm pre-master programme worth 60 ects replaces the usual fourth year programme at your academy after successfully completed the nhtv pre-master sbm you can obtain a master of science degree in just one year normally having obtained a professional bachelor degree you would have to do either a the time factor pre-master of the faculty of the university itself either the first/second year of the academic bachelor programme in order to enter an mscprogramme via the nhtv academic pre-master sbm being a transition programme at nhtv you have the opportunity to proceed directly to the fourth year or master of science programme of a university and you win one year.

master of science programmes involved after completing sbm you have access to several master of sciences msc programmes at a number of academic universities leisure students can also have direct access to the master in leisure studies at the university of tilburg several sbm graduates have successfully obtained their master of science degree in one year the nhtv pre-master sbm also facilitates access to several pre-master programmes at universities by providing compensation credits for detailed info see schedule in this brochure professional attitude and student profile we aim for the best top 10 of the students who have discovered their intellectual competences in their professional bachelor study we strive to attract ambitious students with a full dose of curiosity therefore a prospective sbm student must have an inquisitive investigative and commerciallyoriented mindset the programme is set in an international context being receptive to other cultures and modes of thought is therefore indispensable industry sports and culture hotel industry public organisations management involved in destination development traffic and mobility telecommunication banking etc scientific business applied research abroad the research project assumes a pivotal position in the programme the aim is to carry out a research project on management or marketing business problems in order to provide a company with useful and practical recommendations based on a scientific approach the research and fieldwork for the purpose of this project can be carried out in a country of your own choice depending on the company you will be doing research for broad and international scope on content research and functions because this programme focuses on management and marketing in other words `doing business the sbm programme also trains students for entrepreneurship leadership and market research functions on the international market this programme also trains students in doing scientific research in management and marketing for a company in a sector and country of their own choice sectors can include tourism aviation media industry public sector for town building sustainability leisure as this international programme is taught in english students from all nhtv academies are admissible students from external businessrelated professional bachelor programmes abroad are also admitted provided they meet the necessary selection requirements for whom personal approach and extra research coaching in order to obtain the academic analytical level within your research project you will have research practica trainings in academic skills reading writing and endnote and most important your own personal tutor guiding you through the research process.
