ML5 AG STEAM - A REAL HELP IN CLEANING Cleaning is most certainly not one of the most enjoyable chores. Nevertheless, today’s market is flooded with a vast range of household appliances that can ease domestic chores enormously. This is one of the new modem appliances. Its advantage is that it makes the traditional mop and bucket obsolete. In fact this appliance uses steam and exploits its power to guarantee perfect cleaning every time. It is very versatile and at the same time extremely easy to use. Once tried, you cannot do without it: it is so practical and efficient. SAFETY NORMS The following safety norms must be observed: · Never open the safety locks when the appliance is under pressure. · Only ever connect the appliance to alternating current with the Same rating as that shown on the rating plate. · Never leave the appliance switched on (remove the plug) if: - the appliance, its flex or plug are damaged - the body is visibly damaged - the flex or the steam hose are damaged - the appliance has been damaged or you suspect that it is not working properly - the appliance is no longer tight. · Only use three-pole earthed extensions. · When in use, the appliance can reach high temperatures. If touched, there is the risk of burning. Whoever is using the appliance must be made aware of this (bear in mind the ironing plate, the steam coming from the nozzle, etc.). · Always disconnect the machine (unplug): - before filling or emptying the water tank - when the appliance is not in use, even for short periods - when cleaning it or servicing it - before leaving the room (even for short periods). · Never unplug by pulling on the flex or when your hands are wet. · Never move the appliance by pulling or lifting the flex. · Never allow the flex to rub against sharp Corners or let it get caught. · Protect the flex from heat sources, steam and oil. Always check that the flex is in good condition. · Never leave the appliance switched on unattended. Keep out of the reach of young children. · Always have the appliance repaired by your dealer and only ever use original spare Parts. · Never place the appliance in the rain or under sprinkles of water. ML5 AG SETTING UP HOW TO FlLL THE WATER TANK • Place the appliance on a flat surface. • Unscrew the safety lock (Fig.4). • Fill in the boiler with water using the tunnel (Fig.5). NOTE: The boiler holds 1.65 litres. ATTENTION: Only fill the boiler with tap water. Never add detergents or other chemical additives. The “safety cap valve” has a special self-locking device that cannot be opened when the appliance is under pressure. Fig. 4 Fig. 5 HOW T0 CONNECT • Completely unwind the flex from its compartment. • Fix the cable in its catch (Fig.6). • Close the compartment. • Plug into a 230 V earthed 220 socket (Fig.6). ML5 AG HOW T0 START UP (Fig. 7) • Press the main switch (A). The red light on the main switch will come on when the appliance is switched On. • Press the boiler heating switch (C). The yellow light on the switch will come indicating that the boiler water is heating up. • Wait for the light (B) to come On. The green light indicates that the working pressure has reached the maximum level of 3.2-3.5 bar. Fig. 7 Fig. 8 FllTlNG THE ACCESSORIES (Fig.s 8-9-10-11) STEAM HOSE WITH GRlP (Fig. 8) · Switch off the switch (F, G) on the grip to adjust the quantity of the steam required (position 0). • Lift the socket Cover on the steam cleaner. • Insert the plug (H) in the socket on the appliance, pressing the stop pushbutton at the same time (Fig.9). • Release the stop pushbutton (I) (Fig.9). • Check that the plug (H) is correctly inserted (pull) (Fig.9). ML5 AG STEAM NOZZLE (fitting directly on the flexible grip or on the tubes (Fig. 10) • Insert the accessory in the flexible handle or on the tubes making sure that the little lever is correctly inserted in the corresponding groove. Fig. 10 ROUND BRUSH (Fig.11) (fitting on the steam nozzle) · Fix the brush on the steam nozzle. CLEANING BRUSH (Fig. 12) • Move the catch (K) on the brush to the midway position “Free”. • Slide the brush onto the universal joint (curved). • Move the catch (K) to the left, in the “Movable” position, or to the right, in the “Fixed” position. NOTE: When the catch (K) is in the “Moveable” position, the brush on the universal joint can move over 180”. When in the “Fixed” position, the brush cannot move. EXTENSIONS, UNIVERSAL JOINT AND WINDOW CLEANER (Optional) Insert the accessory in the flexible handle or on the tubes making sure that the little lever is correctly inserted in the corresponding groove. ML5 AG APPLICATIONS The steam cleaner is ideal for perfect cleaning without the need for chemical products. lt cleans: • joints, Corners and other areas that are difficult to access; • tiled floors and walls; • windows, mirrors, glass doors and other glass surfaces; • stains on carpets, upholstery and clothes; • sanitary Ware such as taps, wash basins, baths, WCs, etc.; • kitchen fittings such as units, work tops and so on; • radiators, blinds and shutters; • garden furniture and tools; • cars (windows, hub caps, chrome Parts, etc.). Many other possible applications. ATTENTION: for the sake of safety, never use the steam cleaner on electrical appliances and fittings. CLEANING WlTH THE STEAM NOZZLE (Fig. 13) The steam nozzle is for cleaning those areas that are difficult to access. To remove dirt from Corners, joints, cracks and gaps by steam, follow these steps: • press the steam pushbutton (position 2-3); • loosen the dirt with the steam jet; • remove the dirt with an absorbent cloth. NOTE: To eliminate difficult dirt, we recommend using the round brush on the steam nozzle. ° To clean heat-sensitive materials, hold the steam nozzle at a minimum distance of “C. Fig. 13 ATTENTION: The steam corning from the nozzle has a temperature of approx 130 10-15 cm from the object. 10

ML5 AG CLEANING FLOORS Procedure · Put a clean absorbent cloth on the large brush. · Press the steam pushbutton (position 1-2) · Clean the floor without pressing hard. To clean very dirty floors and to remove stains, use the brush without the cloth. · No need to rub hard: the steam is enough to loosen the dirt. · Place a cloth on the brush and remove the dirt. NOTE: Regularly remove the cloth on the brush so that a clean Part of the cloth is always used. ATTENTION: Take special care when cleaning heat-sensitive materials. Parquet flooring cannot be cleaned with steam. CLEANING WINDOWS To clean glass surfaces, use the special window cleaning attachment as follows: • Press the steam switch (position 1-2). • Gently place the window cleaner on the glass surface. • Remove difficult dirt by using the grooved rubber surface on the window cleaner. • Switch off the steam switch. • Remove the dirty water with the soft rubber Part of the window cleaner. • Dry any remaining water with an absorbent cloth. ATTENTION: In winter you will need to pre-heat the windows before cleaning. To do so, pass the window cleaner over the window, holding it at a distance of approx. 10 cm. CLEANING CARPETS To eliminate stains: • Use the steam nozzle. • Direct a jet of steam (position 1-2) across the surface and hold over the stains. • Place a cloth next to the stain and gather the dirt as this is removed. NOTE: immediately treat fresh stains with cold water. Attention! Stains containing egg whites can become fixed to the material due to the effect of the steam. Cleaning the full carpet. • Fix a cotton cloth around the brush. • Press the steam switch (position 1-2). • Slowly move the brush crossways without pressing down. • Regularly move the cloth on the brush so that a clean part of the cloth is always used. NOTE: The steam cleaner can also be used to clean rugs. ATTENTION: Adjust the power of the steam to position 1 when cleaning delicate fabrics. Before cleaning, check the quality of the carpet (colour resistance) by directing a jet of steam on a hidden Corner. Take special care when cleaning velvets. 11

ML5 AG NO WATER DURING OPERATION An intermittent buzzer and a light will tell you that there is no more water in the tank (E - fig. 2) If this happens the boiler heating stops automatically. WHAT T0 D0 • Switch off the yellow boiler heating switch. • Continue working to use up any remaining steam in the boiler. If this is not done, you will not be able to Open the self-locking valve cap. • Switch off the main switch. • Unplug. • Carefully unscrew the self-locking cap and let any remaining steam to escape. • Remove the safety cap. •· Fill the tank with water as described at point “Setting up/How to fill the water tank” (page 7). • Re-connect the appliance and start up as described at point “How to start up” (page 8). MAINTENANCE (Fig. 14) DESCALING (every 3-4 weeks) ATTENTION: Never descale the appliance when still warm. • Unplug. • Fill the tank with tap water. Do not add other substances. • Hold the appliance upright and shake thoroughly until any scaling Comes away. • • • • • Open the drain at the bottom of the boiler (L) using the key on the safety lock. Collect the water coming from the tank. Rinse the tank repeatedly with tap water (without adding other substances) until there are no further traces of scaling. Close correctly the drain at the bottom of the boiler (L). 12 Fig. 14

ML5 AG CLEANING THE APPLIANCE Clean the appliance and accessories with a damp cloth. Never use steam or immerse in water. PROBLEMS………. • the appliance does not work - not plugged in - general switch not inserted - no electricity • hose does not work • iron does not work • no steam - cap open - boiler switch in position 0 • water on floor And REMEDIES…………. plug in press the switch check the electricity supply make sure it is plugged in make sure it is plugged in close the cap- select power required close drain Contact assistance service Contact assistance service Press the pushbutton on the cap • machine connected to the mains but the main switch and controls off • main switch on but control panel off • after releasing pressure, the cap does not open GENERAL REMARKS • Part of the accessories is found in the flex compartment. • When the appliance has just been started up, condensation can occur in the cold accessories. Before cleaning, adjust the steam in position 2-3 and leave the appliance to work for a few seconds. • Never use the appliance to clean materials that are not heat-resistant. • Never leave the steam switch in position 3 for long. Position 2 is the normal position, is sufficient and consumes less energy. • If the dir1 is difficult to remove, the first Stage of cleaning will require more time and more cloths will be needed later using the steam cleaner as normal. AFTER CLEANING • Always switch off the boiler heating switch. • Let all the steam escape from the boiler. The self-locking safety cap will not open otherwise. • Switch the main switch off. • Unplug. • Before storing the appliance, wait for it to cool down completely. • If you do not intend to use the appliance for 2 weeks, empty any remaining water in the tank as described at point “Descaling” above. 13
