neptune neptune was originally only the god of water but was later extended to the ocean when he became associated with the greek god poseidon it was discovered by johan galle and heinrich d arrest in 1846 neptune blue color is the result of a gas called methane in its atmosphere neptune has 8 know moons 7 small ones and a large moon called triton in roman mythology neptune was the god of the sea neptune is the eighth planet from the sun and the fourth of the outer planets.

jupiter jupiter is named after the roman king of gods jupiter is mostly made of a gas called hydrogen jupiter has lots of storms their storms have been going for about 300 years some of jupiter moons are found in its rings jupiter has at least 63 moons or maybe more jupiter known as zeus in greece over threw his father saturn to become king of the gods he then split the universe with his brothers neptune and pluto.

mercury the surface of the planet mercury is covered with craters because mercury is a dead planet ,with no volcanic activity and no atmosphere it will forever retain its scares if you weigh 70 pounds on earth you would weigh only about 27 pounds on mercury the planet mercury is closest of the planets to the sun mercury often is visible for a brief period of time just after the sun sets.

venus venus is the second planet from the sun venus is sometimes called the evening star and the morning star it is very bright you can see it at sunset and sunrise one day on venus is longer than one year on venus one venus day is 243 earth days.
