november 30th 2010 volume 2 issue 10 siminterior designs ltd an idea by madison1909 plasma an acquired taste editor grab your morning cup and enjoy this issue by okadoka inside this issue design star challenge triple take mid century modern plasma an acquired taste cont living homeless sims3 site news member spotlight bird pg 2 pg 3 pg 4 pg 6 pg 8 pg 9 special points of interest · · · design star challenge living homeless triple mid-century modern member spotlight bird · plasma it isn t just for the elite anymore they call themselves by various names but the special citizens of bridgeport have hit the nightlife scene they love plasma juice and their cocktails of choice are the hemoglobin shooter and plasma punch the other young clubbers of bridgeport have sampled these concoctions and have come to the conclusion that craving these bloody beverages must be an acquired taste once they become closer friends with the special citizens they may just turn and opt to imbibe in them regularly as well choosing this path should not be taken lightly it will alter the lives of these sims so they must consider their careers lifestyle choices and hobbies daytime will not be kind to them once they begin craving blood deciding to join the special citizens is not something you can just say you want to do and have happen you have to physically meet and get to know one of these special citizens and have a regular relationship with them only then will you be granted the option to request that he or she turn you where can you find these special citizens that s a good question as they are quite rare there are a handful of them in bridgeport and they don t normally hang out in the open you have to visit the nightclubs after dark and check out the exclusive clientele once you have found one of the special citizens take your time getting to know them keep the conversation on a pleasant tone and don t use any risky social interactions such as gossiping or insulting it s important to keep an eye on the relationship bar when trying to become special the greater the relationship the easier it will be to ask to be turned if you ask too soon the special citizen will just shake his/her head and refuse even if they do agree you must find a safe place for the transformation you cannot be turned in a populated place and then keep in mind that the success rate is not one hundred percent the process itself involves the special citizen sinking their teeth into you if the turning is successful you will see a vampire-esque flourish surround your sim almost immediately after the ceremony the special citizen will disappear but their bite mark will last for several days and you will receive the neutral unusual blemish moodlet which will leave your sim feeling a bit out of sorts expect your sim to experience nausea and they will complain that it feels like their blood is boiling your sim regardless if they had the trait already or not will behave like they hate the outdoors by the end of the second day after the bite your sim will experience the end of the transformation process you are not officially special continue on page 4

page 2 volume 2 issue 10 by linday for the semifinals the three remaining contestants designed a daycare center containing a learning area play area eating area and sleeping area this was a different challenge indeed where the contestants had to focus on entirely different design elements than previously at least there was no twist this week as we have seen before they really stepped up to the challenge and each one delivered a different take lightside created an elegant and airy space with soft pastel accents and the most luxurious sleeping area seen in a daycare kementari created a colorful space with a very fun play area containing a ball pit a jungle gym and a mini castle lkadas created a softer-colored space where the kids had a stage to perform on the creativity shown in this round was once again amazing and the eliminations was hard in the end kementari and lkadas made it through to the finals congratulations to both of them we are now all holding our breath awaiting the final challenge to be announced what will it be and who will be crowned siminteriordesign s design star game play tip vampires never receive the sore or fatigued moodlets meaning they can excel at developing the athletic skill the sims3 game collectors guide

page 4 volume 2 issue 10 plasma an acquired taste continued after being turned you will learn that the special citizens practice vampirism and that it really isn t just a dining habit but a lifestyle there are many benefits to having your sim follow this lifestyle they will now have the ability to turn others they will also get a special treat in the mail plasma fruit you can automatically turn other sims in your household that you are in good standing in the relationship department with if you have just met someone and you want to try the offer to turn interaction make sure to check the relationship status bar first you won t have the ability to just offer to turn anyone besides it is quite rude to just bite any stranger besides seeming extra awesome to the teenagers in bridgeport there are other nice benefits that come from living the vampirism lifestyle you now have special talents that you didn t have before some can be both a blessing and a curse the intelligence boost is one of those yes it speeds skill building during night time hours but on the opposite side of the coin if you decide to purchase a vampirism cure and return to your previous career it may get boring if your skills are level 10 another benefit is the ability to see inside the minds of other sims to see what they are thinking this could be a negative as well what happens when what they are thinking is something less than flattering about you you ll also have the ability to run fast very fast as a matter of fact when you run you will cause the air around you to vibrate always wanted to keep your youthful good looks well following vampirism allows you to special citizens age differently than the rest of the population the young adult and adult sim stages last much longer for them the elderly stage stays pretty much the same as the rest of the population though of course as with anything you wish for in life there are drawbacks too there are potential problems you will face such as losing interest in other foods and navigating your way about town in sunlight just to name a couple of them there will also be some things you don t like garlic for instance if you eat garlic while following the vampirism lifestyle you will pass out cold and remain out for several hours you also need to be vigilant about whom you speak to other sims who have eaten garlic will have the garlic breath moodlet and if you drink from that particular sim you will also pass out kissing a sim who has garlic breath will cause you to become nauseous so now that you know some of the benefits and problems you need to know how to survive top on the list is blood you will need to keep a steady supply to sate your thirst the thirst need now replaces the hunger need and you will need to keep extra watch on it thirst can only be fulfilled by drinking blood the easiest way is to consume plasma fruit and drinking plasma juice you can purchase plasma juice at the grocer and store it in the fridge as you would other groceries only those special citizens who are also vegetarians will receive the sated moodlet from eating the plasma fruit these are two ways to fill your thirst but to truly reach the sated state the best way is to sink your fangs into the flesh of another sim these are important things to remember as if you do not feed fast enough you will perish you ll also want to hunt for superior sources of blood you will be able to hunt in crowded rooms to quickly find the level of plasma quality of whomever you scan in the crowd sims with particularly delicious plasma will be noted in the relationship tabs once you have feasted on a sim with superior blood you will receive the sanguine snack moodlet there are many issues for you to consider before deciding to turn special make your choice wisely game play tip child and teen vampires can consume both plasma juice and plasma fruit both of these fulfill the hunger need before it becomes a thirst need the sims3 game collectors guide

page 6 volume 2 issue 10 living homeless in twinbrook by okadoka soon after ima and ritchie returned home from china it was time for ima to plan a birthday party this time ritchie would have a party with friends and all the trimmings his best friend jan fredrick attended and a friend from class corrine gooden the neighbors mary baker and zo whelan came to give him birthday wishes as well once ritchie transitioned to teenager life became a bit easier for ima as he had some independence now and could do many things without her ritchie continued to show an interest in asian culture and martial arts he practiced on the training dummy they brought home from china whenever he had the chance he also meditated daily and became so proficient at it that he soon was able to teleport while ritchie was home studying asian culture ima started going out with friends to the red rendezvous on occasion she loved dancing even if the dance floor there was a bit small there she met tom castor after talking a bit she found out he was a virgo and since she is a pisces they hit if off well and began dating she also starting thinking about the future one day while reading the paper she came across a realtors ad it listed a property for sale that sounded perfect for her and ritchie while he was at school she headed over to the property to look at it the ad listed only a description and request interested parties to make an offer the address was listed as 27 herring ranch road it was located just past the industrial area when she got there and saw the huge amount of land the home was built on she wasn t worried so much about the features of the home as long as the construction was sound she saw the land around it as a source of income and she was getting very skilled at gardening she took the long way home so she could dream about the property after she returned home she contacted the property owner and made an offer unfortunately it was turned down they only had 24,000 saved and the owner said he could not take less than 33,462 for it or he would lose money for the amount of land alone this was a good deal and ima knew it she had hoped but she asked the owner to give her a few weeks to try and work something out she discussed it with her friends over dinner and they agreed that she should try to find a way to purchase the property she began scouring the junkyards again for scrap metal to sell she sold most of her crops keeping only what she needed to feed herself and ritchie and she hiked all over town in search of gems and metals she used some of her funds to send a few gems out to be cut as it increased their value and she could sell them for more cash she collected quite a few special gems and hit pay dirt with a rare pink diamond people were also starting to take notice of her around town she was beginning to become a bit of a celebrity she received a phone call one day asking her if she would consider doing a radio voice over for llama musk perfume when they mentioned she would be paid 5000.00 for the job she quickly accepted she also received an offer to help promote the little corsican bistro for an additional 2000.00 ritchie also got a part time job through school and began working weekends at the high products building center their funds were growing quickly ima took all the gems and metals she collected and spread them out in her backyard so she could evaluate their approximate value she had 1 large space rock 2 blue topaz 1 white diamond 1 ruby 2 yellow sapphires 2 compendium ingots 1 plutonium ingot 2 tungsten carbide ingots 2 emeralds 29 pieces of iron 1 gold bar and 8 silver bars those were all uncut raw gems and metals but to her surprise their value was 5962.00 she also had 2 cut luminorious gems 1 cut fluorite 1 cut yellow sapphire 1 cut emerald and 1 cut pink diamond these were all cut in heart shape and were worth quite a lot the total value of her cut gems was 12765.00 she had collected 18,727.00 in just a few weeks she added this to her household funds and they now had 43,386.00 she decided to take ritchie out to show him the property before they made a final decision ritchie fell in love with the land also as it had a stream running through it and he could fish in his spare time the inside of the home was small smaller than ima thought but she figured they could always renovate slowly and expand she approached the property owner again and told him she came up with the 33,462 the home and land was all theirs now after selling the home they were living in which netted them 11,046 dollars they still had approximately 20,000 to be able to move in and start some minor renovations game play tip you cannot drink from a ghost mummy simbot vampire or pregnant sim the sims3 game collectors guide

page 10 volume 2 issue 10 oka what was the challenge that you felt was the least challenging why bird the family man i think it s really easy to populate sunset valley lol oka which challenge did you feel was the most difficult why did you think about not completing it bird all of the legacies are hard although if i had to choose from the one generational i would say the baby boomers challenge i had so many babies in that house did i complete it no the social worker came and took them away oka which of the challenges listed did you feel was the most innovative and stood apart from the others why bird the black widow challenge because it s the only one on my website that has to do actually with the killing off of a sim most of my other challenges have to with exploring the game s features oka one of the challenges listed is the homeless challenge how did your sim fair in that challenge how did their daily living pattern differ from ima pauper in my living homeless in twinbrook articles bird my sim fair well although i really think it should have been more drama in her life i think i have to play that challenge again sometime the sim life didn t really differ from your very much except she didn t go to a different country lol i played the challenge before world adventures came out oka you mentioned you have a new found interest in interior design you did a great job in the triple take bedroom makeover challenge and have recently entered the triple take mid century modern challenge what about the triple take challenges interests you the most do you feel the triple take challenges help you discover new decor styles you may not have considered previously bird thank you what interest me most about the triple take challenges are two things first it s a challenge i and love challenges second it gives me a chance to use even more features of the game it also is great to see what others come up with sid has a lot of creative minds to answer your second question i have to say it does help me discover new decor styles i may not have considered previously it really makes me look at furniture differently what looks good and what looks bad it has even made me think of my own taste in decor styles for real life bird loves her challenges but has a difficult time finding new and interesting ones so she decided to compile a list of her favorite ones to make it easier for other simmers who love a challenge as much as she you can visit her blogspot here http sims3challengesfavs.blogspot.com.

volume 2 issue 10 page 11 oka do you build or make patterns bird not really i build my own houses in game and i have made some patterns although i really haven t made any to speak of yet oka do you have a favorite color palette bird no i love all color palettes well most colors are very fun to work with,and as david bromstad once said on his hgtv show don t be afraid of color i guess ever since then i decorated with lots of color however my real-life house looks very different from the rooms i ve created on the sims i guess it s because real-life houses aren t so easy to keep changing oka what is your favorite decor and why bird i have none i choose furniture that i like and i go with it i like rooms to look kind of fun and cozy i always love color but the room has to look cozy oka what hobbies other than the sims that you have bird of course i love to play the sims 3 but i also like to play x-box video games i m talking mass effect and halo the sims on the x-box is cool too but i prefer mass effect i also like to cook but soon got tired of the cleaning part i don t cook new things as much anymore oka sid runs many mini challenges in many areas to encourage our members to try different aspects of creating with the sims what aspect of game have you never ventured into but would like to if a mini challenge in that area was presented in a way that diminishes the anxiety of trying something new bird none really i really have a lot on my plate and can t see how i can fit anything else into my schedule oka what is your favorite feature in the late night expansion pack bird i haven t tried them all yet but i think i really am going to like the floor platform oka what do you like most about the sims 3 bird it s got to be cas i love the ability to customize patterns and furniture colors to the color you want them to be i remember in sims 2 when i wanted a yellow dress it took two weeks to find the right one but in sims 3 it takes a minute as time passed i started getting into custom content and with the new ability to customize colors on your own i started getting more into the interior design aspects of playing when sims 3 came out.
