idea of learning from others dialogue is a great environment in which to learn from others as we know it is based on the exchange of ideas with the goal of finding a collective solution thus all parties come at the discussion with a open-minded view of all ideas presented and can accept them.

seminar process the most important part of preparing for a seminar is pre-write there are 4 easy steps for preparing for a seminar these steps are number the lines number the lines of the text for reference in the seminar read like a love letter this means that you need to read the text in depth no skimming read over at least twice reading it like a love letter is important because when you do you find it more interesting and pay more attention this way you look for meaning in every word.

what we learned from the texts from the physics we learned that anything that is natural or man-made humans try to understand it another way of putting this is that when we see something that makes us wonder we want to know what causes it to be what it is for example what makes a stone statue is what goal the artist had when creating it from the leviathan we learned that men stay in check because of an outside power without this outside power chaos would erupt and there would be no safety or security except one s own strength and trickery.

from mathematical principles we learned about the laws of motion created by sir isaac newton law a describes that anything that moves with constant speed in a line stays that way it changes speed or direction because it is forced to do so by something else we applied this to metaphysical situations from a mathematician s defense they talk about how a mathematician is a maker of patterns just like a poet or painter the difference is that a mathematician s ideas last longer then a painting or a poem it s because a mathematician s patterns are made by ideas.

personal anecdotes i experienced a perspective shift when i participated in the mathematical principles laws of motion seminar my initial thoughts had been on what drives man to discover the principles discussed and science in general the seminar however was mainly directed at applying the laws to metaphysical relationships whether i agree with the validity or appropriateness of that comparison aside it was definitely an intriguing experience when so many participants approached the same text differently than i -thomas kovacs
