editor s letter we discuss boating and watersports in the special section this issue our east texas weather doesn t seem to want to cooperate with the warm temperatures typical this time of year as usual if you don t like the weather just wait a few minutes this strange weather doesn t appear to have slowed down the fishing and tournaments many are making some really nice catches we want to extend a very happy mother s and father s day to everyone of the many hats we wear and jobs we do this for most raising our children is by far the most rewarding it won t be long now until the kids are out of school and the fun and activities the summer brings will be in full swing one of the many wonderful things about living in east texas is the opportunities we are blessed with to enjoy and engage our children in all the amazing outdoor possibilities we have to paraphrase something i read no child remembers their best day watching television get them outside have fun and make some cherished memories we hope you keep sending us your story ideas and photographs we always love hearing from the readers of east texas outdoors magazine see you outdoors as the east texas outdoors magazine family would like to congratulate airman charles michael adams on his recent graduation from basic training with the 737 training group 322nd training squadron flight 267 at lackland afb in san antonio texas april 12 2013 michael is currently attending technical school at sheppard afb in wichita falls texas we wish michael the best on his journey and send out a huge thank you for his service lisa steffensen charles michael adams brooks adams pg 8 etoutdoors.com
