i haven t used grabbabeast in a while and i rediscovered it through colourlovers blog it has changed quite a bit if i remember it correctly grabbabeast is a cool site where you can create a beast using colorful and strange body parts backgrounds and accessories you can change the color of all objects the combinations are endless you can also download your beast save it to a gallery send an ecard email it or order a poster of it you can also get the grabbabeast widget to install on your blog or website here are some ways you could use grabbabeast first students create a beast next write a description of it line all beasts up read descriptions and see whether classmates can match the picture with the description write a poem about your beast write a scary story about your beast collaborate with a friend to write a commercial that uses your beast as a mascot write dialogue for your beast pretend your beast was on a cereal box what type of cereal would it be design a cereal box using your beasts image write a song your beast would sing use as an avatar.

super action comic maker from artisancam is a cloud application that lets student easily create their own comics using super-action characters students can create up to six frames for each comic then add characters including action and scale dialogue and backgrounds comics can be printed or saved to the gallery students may want to look through the gallery to get some ideas before they start this is easy to use and students will enjoy making comics with the super-action comic characters.

live binders my public shelf as promised i am sharing my public livebinders shelf students at my school have been using them and the feedback from staff and students has been great i have made binders for phonics art brain games news for kids halloween online girls magazines and more i hope you can use them and i will continue to update them and add more if you would like to make your own it s easy just go to livebinders you can also check out oodles of other ready-made livebinders made by others that you can use quick tip use your f11 key to toggle your livebinder to full screen this looks better and students will have less of a chance of wandering off the page.

pinball is another find from techhappy pinball will help you and your students organize thoughts kick start new ideas brainstorm and more students can bounce their ideas around by using these fun and simple tools there are four applications dot dash snap shot drop zone wild reels these are all great for brainstorming ideas if you have a whiteboard or a projector this would even make it an even more powerful tool you can even upload pictures from your computer or use theirs you can view full screen download and print your project this is really nice and simple to use students will love seeing their ideas using pinball applications.

i picked this one up from techhappy according to keith ferrell cloud canvas is a powerful in-browser drawing program that allows users to utilize layers filters clip art and other graphics brushes textures and many other features normally found in photoshop-like programs you save directly into your google docs account or you can export as a .png file onto your computer from the drawing this is definitely not for the younger students it is certainly powerful and will do a lot but this of course makes it more complicated definitely for the older and more experienced artist this may be to complicated for most of my students but i m sure there will be a few who will love it.
