program also offers a variety of foreign languages at the end of the first year students choose a major in one of the departments and fill their schedules accordingly each major offers a number of fields which in turn are divided into courses of different levels of depth and scope after a major is declared a student will choose at least two fields of study within the major and study them to a high level of academic competence all students are assigned a personal tutor who provides individualized academic guidance and helps the student compose his or her study program the tutor monitors student progress and assists in making choices which suit academic interests and career ambitions in this sense the tutor also takes part in advising students about career options fellows of ucu
