cynde meyer publishers letter i write my words this month listening to the gayatri mantra performed by deva premal gayatri mantra the mother of the vedas is the foremost mantra in hinduism and hindu beliefs and inspires wisdom its meaning is that may the almighty god illuminate our intellect to lead us along the righteous path the first time i heard this mantra was many years ago when spirit seeker magazine had a booth at a holistic expo in naples florida i had given countless intuitive readings and energy healing sessions for three days at the booth and was expanded i was driving from naples to ft meyer florida after the conference and played a deva premal cd given to me that day by my friend jackie colorado when deva sang this mantra i had tears running down my face touched by the absolute beauty of this mantra this is a very powerful mantra we have reviewed deva prama s latest cd into the light this month in the new sounds section i have been on quite a journey as of late i had a fantastic summer traveling with my children as well as on my own to florida and chicago il you can read about my travels in this issue of spirit seeker i am so blessed to have had this recent time away i feel crisper and ready to do things in a different way as autumn is about to begin i am inspired to clear away even more things from my life the feng shui wisdom of less is more is how i am choosing to live these days new opportunities are showing up because i am pruning my life again i have released 35 pounds in the last few months and i am moving my body it feels great to remember and embrace movement again i am getting ready to play golf again after a sixteen year pause at one time in my life i played golf 3-4 times per week and have played amazingly beautiful courses in many states and in mexico golf was like meditation to me i totally left all else in my life behind and communed with my golf game and nature we will see all the breast surgeries broken ankle and shoulder and injured knee may not be as happy as i am about pursuing this sport as we transition from the yang months of summer with outside activity and sunshine into the ying quieter months of autumn may you find time to reflect on the changes that you desire in your life there are so many wonderful classes coming to the midwest in september and october i will be traveling to kansas city for jonathan and one digit to wealth by alan cohen from the heart alan cohen is the author of many popular inspirational books including the bestselling the dragon doesn t live here anymore and his new metaphysical thriller linden s last life listen to alan s weekly radio show get real on hay house at www.hayhouseradio.com for more information about alan s books programs or his free daily inspirational quotes via email visit www.alancohen.com email info@alancohen.com or phone 1 800 568-3079 o n my weekly radio show get real www.hayhouseradio.com i presented a program on prosperity in advance i announced that i would be doing on-the-air coaching for listeners who wanted help with issues of abundance since prosperity is so relevant for most people i expected to receive lots of call-ins when the show began i looked at my computer switchboard showing me who was calling in called a stac and to my surprise there were no calls i announced the call-in number again and after another five minutes there were still no calls i was amazed then i realized i was facing a fear that one day i would present a show and no one would call in so i simply went on with my talk about prosperity principles including the idea that prosperity may be right at your door but you can keep it at bay with a tiny thought of lack the first 25-minute segment of the show went by without even one caller over that time i became more relaxed about no one all the prosperity calling and i settled into there ever was or what i felt was a good will be has already talk during the commerbeen created cial break that followed you just have i commented to the engito let it in neer in the studio i guess there are no callers today are you kidding he replied the switchboard was all lit up didn t you see it when we analyzed the situation i realized that i had input the wrong url code for the web page that showed the stac during the previous week we had pre-recorded a show using a stac with a url ending in .45 the regular show used the exact same url except ending in .46 i refreshed the screen with the .46 code and there i found about 10 callers some of whom had been waiting half an hour since the beginning of the show my error proved my point a wealth of callers were there but i missed them by one small digit when i corrected that one digit they all poured in and we enjoyed a marvelous dialogue during the second segment of the show likewise there may be a wealth of money love health or the passion-filled career you desire just waiting at your door but you just have to make a slight adjustment in your mind to allow it in abraham-hicks talks about vibrational escrow describing the abundance of good things you have requested but have not received because you believe that your wealth is not available or you don t deserve it or others have taken it from you or you have to struggle to get it each of these thoughts represents the one-digit difference between seeing an empty switchboard and finding one lit up with enthusiastic callers when i related my experience to a friend he pointed out to me it s interesting that you had a fear of doing a show with no callers in a way your fear of no callers created the experience of no callers you expected that might happen so when it looked like that was happening you accepted it someone who expected callers might have communicated with the engineer after a few minutes and the issue could have been rectified quickly in a way the whole scenario was perfect because i got to face my fear and walk through it i found a way to relax into giving a quality talk even if there were no callers several listeners reported that they enjoyed the segment of lecture without callers then the callers showed up so ultimately we had the best of both worlds imagine that you water your garden daily by means of a hose connected to a 10,000-gallon water tank one day you open the hose nozzle and you notice just a few little drops of water trickling out immediately your mind goes to worry and lack the water ran out you exclaim or someone diverted it you feel empty poor and victimized then you look down and you see that you are standing on the hose allowing prosperity may be summed up very simply get off your hose the universe has created everything in ample even extravagant supply for everyone but not everyone is open and ready to accept the supply offered while you cannot choose for others you can choose for yourself you do not have to create prosperity all the prosperity there ever was or will be has already been created you just have to let it in such a momentous reception can be as simple as shifting one thought or changing one digit on the url of your consciousness take a moment to think about what you would most like but have not been able to manifest now imagine that precise wealth life partner stimulating career glorious home or vibrant health is already available just waiting for you to claim it further imagine that such a manifestation does not require struggle or sacrifice but simply a tweak of your awareness from fear to love lack to abundance from worry to trust now you have your dial set to the station you would like to watch and watch it you will connect with spirit through sacred spaces and closed on mondays tues-th noon-7:00 p.m experiences we offer support tours crystal singing fri-sun noon-5:00 p.m bowl sessions reprinted with permission from dr barbel aldridge who is a naturopathic doctor who visits st louis once a month her website address is www.healingwayssnc.com call to find out her schedule in st louis at 336-885-2948 y ou know you re tired of thinking about food and body image issues that leave you drained and frustrated with the holidays soon approaching it s an especially vulnerable time for emotional eating how would you like to relax and truly connect with loved ones during the holiday season instead of the holiday stress controlling you it s very stressful to constantly worry about what you eat and then feel guilty afterwards and worry about gaining weight you feel weak-willed and inadequate i used to binge on sweet and then salty foods i used food as my comfort my pal my emotional stabilizer my feelings of inadequacy were too much to bear and so i turned to food i despised my body my relationships were rocky it was impossible to be at peace when i hated myself that has all changed for me i have now found a great deal of peace and harmony and joy in my life i even love myself though not at the perfect weight i have successfully kept off 35 pounds for eight years by using meridian tapping meridian tapping is like acupuncture without needles you gently tap with fingertips on energy meridians around your body all negative emotions are created by a disruption in your body s energy system when you experience trauma which shows up as anxiety fear food cravings a general desire to escape your current reality your energy system is out of whack tapping restores the energetic balance and relieves anxiety thus allowing you to view reality more calmly and clearly if you struggle with weight and food issues and have consistently done so for over one month chances are that subconsciously you want to be overweight before judging this as a ridiculous notion consider how many times you ve sabotaged yourself with weight release efforts one often remains overweight and turns to food for comfort because it feels safe on a subconscious level you may have a limiting belief that you need food to cope with life and to derive pleasure you may believe that you are fat and always will be use tapping to replace these beliefs with more empowering ones thus changing your subconscious desires to align with your conscious desires to be thin and no longer use food as a crutch tap to relieve your immediate food cravings also if you eliminate anxiety there is no need to turn to food anymore it s not only what you eat that causes your suffering it s how you eat and feel about yourself join me on 9/7 for a complementary call as i personally walk you through this process and help you to feel great release the weight and regain your self-respect go to www.harmonyharbor.com and join my newsletter to receive the call-in information also in september receive a complementary ½ hour coaching session with me let s discover your personal reason for holding onto weight then we ll devise a step-by-step plan for your weight release contact me at 314-422-6520 are you ready to release the weight and reclaim your freedom maintaining your internal water supply can be your very own fountain of youth you constantly lose moisture through respiration and perspiration and elimination drains more according to research the average percentage of water in your body decreases with age newborns and young children typically have a significantly higher proportion of water in their physical makeup than normal adults and by the time we reach old age the proportion of water in our bodies has dropped by about 10 so it s fair to say that getting old is drying out it makes sense to slow this aging by dehydration as much as possible but drinking excessively can also do damage flooding the digestive tract unbalancing electrolytes and stressing vital organs so we teach people to replenish the water they lose frequently and moderately make it a habit to always have a water bottle with you buy yourself one lined with glass or stainless steel fill it with pure spring water and take it wherever you go a few swallows every ½ hour is adequate under normal conditions of course this amount of fluid intake includes the water in your food as well as what you drink raw fruits and vegetables consist mostly of water and soup and the like also contribute positively dry and salty foods are dehydrating snack on fresh fruits and veggies and sip pure spring water or caffeine free unsweetened drinks like herb tea to support your kidneys in cleaning your blood and maintaining optimal hydration throughout your body drinking makes up the difference and it s important to drink between meals for several reasons drinking a lot with food makes it harder for your stomach to keep the right concentration of acid the stomach has to maintain strong acidity to further digestion diluting its contents with a big drink during or just after eating might dilute stomach acidity making this stage of digestion less comfortable and efficient drink first then eat that way the water passes through your stomach to be absorbed ahead of the food so that it is available for later stages of digestion and general hydration another reason why it s vital to maintain proper hydration is to optimize elimination do you have hollows or bags below your eyes these might be signs of kidney stress your kidneys control water volume in your blood switching back and forth between volume control and filtration filtration removes toxins from your blood to support detoxification don t overwhelm your kidneys with excess fluid and then go into dehydration mode for hours colorless copious urination can show that you are forcing your kidneys to spend too much effort on eliminating excess water from your blood so you might be drinking the right amount of water and still not be getting enough where you need it do you suffer from constipation do you have to rely on laxatives to keep regular in the last stage of digestion your system absorbs a lot of water from your colon if there isn t enough left over for elimination it can cause this problem instead of treating symptoms of biological drought with medications that mask the problem treat your thirst with water don t just treat symptoms rebuild your health colon therapy with experience over 20 years v is for visionary by linda m potter an interview with michael beckwith few people have earned the right to be called a true visionary michael beckwith however is one of them in 1986 at age 30 he founded his own church the agape international spiritual center which today serves 9,000 local members and 1,000,000 friends worldwide over the next 20 years beckwith co-founded the association for global new thought and the season for nonviolence both of which are extensions of his vision of one human family united on a foundation of peace based on the spiritual origin of every man woman and child a world leader and teacher in the new thought-ancient wisdom tradition of spirituality beckwith s extraordinary journey had an unlikely beginning he says he was a drug dealer in college until he was arrested in a deal gone bad it was during his trial that he experienced a spiritual awakening and made a commitment to turn his life around beckwith believes in the power of the human spirit we are here to change we are here to grow develop and unfold we are progressive beings that have infinite capacity he says with the launch of his new pbs special the answer is you beckwith has been inundated with requests for interviews and appearances amidst the flurry of activity he took some time to answer some fun questions posed by a friend questions all those journalists never got around to asking list 5 books everyone should read and why glenn clark has authored two books the man who tapped the secrets of the universe a biography of the life of walter russell and the man who talked with flowers a biography of george washington carver russell s life defines what genuine success and genuine happiness are and for that reason it s well-worth the read george washington carver knew how to listen to the rhythm of the cosmos and we can all learn how to listen more profoundly for the inward journey by howard thurman in the language of practical mysticism dr thurman teaches us how it is possible to walk through life s most edgy painful growth experiences knowing that there is a great something loving embracing and supporting us at every step i love the simplicity and encouragement of his wisdom the life divine by sri aurobindo a great synthesizer of indian metaphysical thought aurobindo is a towering figure of historical and spiritual significance in india his book describes the evolution of consciousness humankind s spiritual destiny and the way to life a divine life on earth sri aurobindo s wisdom is as valuable to those of us facing the challenges of the twenty-first century as when we wrote this book in 1939 synchronicity the inner path of leadership by joseph jaworski i love this book because it vibes with my understanding of the real meaning of transformational leadership by placing emphasis on the truth that the greatest servant is the greatest leader a parenthesis in eternity by joel goldsmith this book is one of the best books i ve read that describes the stages of evolving consciousness from mind power to surrender i notice you didn t add your own book spiritual liberation to the list you do recommend it right well you caught me there i do recommend spiritual liberation because it distills not only what i ve learned from the spiritual teachers we ve just talked about it also contains my message the spiritual benefits i ve received through my own spiritual practices and how i share all this with others via my book so sure i definitely recommend my book i mean if i can t recommend it i shouldn t have written it in the first place what is your favorite movie of all time the pursuit of happyness from the book of the same title by chris gardner name any three people in history with whom you would like to sit down to dinner i would like to break bread with george washington carver and nelson mandela i would like go on a fast with jesus the christ what dream do you hope to achieve in your lifetime i would like my life to affect the consciousness of humanity in four ways first that i may contribute to our humanitarian responsibility to assure that every person that is born on planet earth has their basic needs met and their dignity honored second that people arrive at the understanding that in addition to spiritually awakening individuals are on the planet to deliver their gifts and talents third to dissolve the myth that the external toys of the world offer the ultimate happiness fourth that individuals become inspired to becomes givers rather than takers what super power would you like to possess and why i would like the power to heal lives to wake people up to their awesome beauty and infinite capabilities all the while remaining anonymous my reason for choosing this super power is that while it may sound simple imagine what our world would be like if each and every one of us were living up to our fullest potential of self-realization including love compassion intelligence joy peace creativity and generosity we would join heaven and earth live in an enlightened society and fulfill the purpose of existence and so it is linda m potter is a licensed spiritual counselor popular speaker published author and the managing editor of bellaspark magazine her book if god would only give me a sign is due out in spring 2011 lindampotter@comcast.net www.lindampotter.com the answer is pay no attention to the drama of the dow get a bigger bucket by dennis merritt jones i have been observing how the ups and downs of the stock market have been affecting people s sense of wellbeing for many the dow is like a barometer that dictates how we should be feeling each day when the dow is up we have a tendency to feel good when the dow is down our tendency is to feel a bit down as well my sense is that it is because most of us are more worried about the well running dry than about the size of the bucket we re taking to the well here is the good news from a perspective of universal abundance the well can never run dry because it is infinite in supply the challenge is particularly in economically difficult times such as these it is easy to be seduced into believing otherwise and in the process our bucket seems to get smaller every day as we buy into the drama the state of the economy has nothing to do with the supply of our good because it is not the source of our good to illustrate this visualize going to a well that is rich in resources beyond your belief and is so deep you can t even see to the bottom imagine that this well contains whatever good you seek to be a complete healthy happy fulfilled and whole person now simply lower your bucket down deep into the well and with no effort at all pull it back up how much good is contained in your bucket the answer is obvious isn t it it s all relevant to the size of your bucket a pint-sized bucket can hold only a pint of good on the other hand a five-gallon bucket can hold only five gallons of good then again what if your bucket were the size of a fifty-gallon drum or the size of a swimming pool how big is your container whatever it is that s the amount of good you will have and no more webster s dictionary tells us that one definition for providence is divine guidance and care from god i like the above quote by mary webb because it illustrates that the infinite is always caring for its creation by always making an abundance of whatever is needed available without limit it s the size of our bucket that limits us the concept of the bucket is a classic metaphor because it s one with which we can all identify think of your personal bucket as your consciousness your consciousness is shaped by your beliefs and your beliefs determine the quality and quantity of what goes into the bucket so the question is what size is your bucket if your experience in life isn t yielding enough of whatever you are seeking don t go searching for another well because there is only one well and it is infinitely deep get a bigger bucket expand your consciousness deepen your belief and faith in a universal presence that is infinite and eternal in every way and knows how to sustain that which it creates with more than enough how do we build a bigger bucket one new belief at a time based on our unity with source and an understanding that we don t have to ask for more of anything because the gift has already been made it s part of our divine inheritance as you take a look at how you approach life today give some thought as to the size of the bucket you carry with you how do you perceive life is your glass half-empty or halffull is your bucket the size of a cup or a much larger container if there is any area of your life where there appears to be less than enough challenge that appearance not by complaining that the well isn t deep enough to satisfy your needs but by asking why is my bucket so small listen carefully and you will be given the wisdom needed to build a bigger bucket and make no mistake building your consciousness will require some form of action on your part you may discover that learning how to love yourself more fully knowing and believing you are a worthy recipient of life s abundance is the starting point abundance is a universal principle available to one and all alike so don t let the drama of the dow determine how much good you can have get a bigger bucket the well of providence is deep it s the buckets we bring to it that are small mary webb october 12 cynde meyer interviews dennis merritt jones 7:00-8:00 pm cst www.blogtalkradio.com www.spiritseeker.com 15
