innovative healthcare the yarona care product provides for an alternative financing methodology for the procurement of healthcare services for those people who cannot afford traditional healthcare insurance the product has been developed with the following distinct features knowledge of healthcare providers and their business contracted healthcare providers into yarona care knowledge and design of healthcare purchasing methodologies design of a transactional based model for healthcare purchasing use of cell phone technologies mobile banking as a platform for transactions the cell phone user purchases any one or any combination of baskets at a vendor and after payment the purchase is loaded on the customer s cell phone as per current pay-as-you-go mechanisms the various baskets will be made available through cards or vouchers that have unique pin-type codes representing the basket or baskets that the customer has purchased this entitles the purchaser to healthcare services as per their purchase at any contracted healthcare provider yarona has contracted these providers for these above services at the agreed price once the purchaser wishes to utilize their purchase they go to the healthcare service provider and by dialing a code 1209988 on their cell phone they show the provider the basket they have procured and this then entitles them to the service the purchaser then pays for this service via their cell phone by inputting the doctors unique practice number the code for the loaded basket and then allocates the pre­paid voucher to the pprovider s unique practice number this voucher is now ready for payment to the provider market consumers corporate government/ngos purchasing platforms voucher payroll mobile banking products products products products products products patients transactions transactions mobile phone operator pay as you go business bank redemption contractual agreement healthcare provider

requirements for participation in order to be a service provider of this product the following are required dispensing licence access to the internet yarona healthcare network contract all contracts should be completed with a yarona consultant please see back page for contact details redemption process for services transacting with the provider once the patient arrives at the healthcare provider practice services are rendered in accordance with the product definitions the patient must then send payment notification code via ussd messaging format to the nominated providers practice cell number and once the send is pushed the transaction is complete a message is sent to both consumer and provider detailing transaction has been processed and payment is due to be made for services rendered against the product provider must then log on to the claiming portal to complete the process for payment providers log on to the yarona care portal at www.yaronacare.co.za and follow instructions to redeem payments
