leading universities eindhoven is a modern student city region of eindhoven technology hotspot in the netherlands anitha sarkar i was already interested in the subject of sustainable energy during my electrical electronics bachelor s program in india and had done some projects and courses in this area after a broad based introduction at the start of the master s program i intend to specialize in the field of solar energy i believe that reducing the costs of solar energy is the only way to improve the penetration of this technology in the energy market that is why i will be working on plasma techniques which are very promising in terms of reducing costs and improving the performance of solar cells after my master s i would like to be a researcher in this field and then move on to industry i should have an excellent chance of getting a good job around the globe if i tell the recruiter about the subjects i have studied and the university at which i gained my master s i am very positive about the education at tu/e ­ it goes a lot further than just theory and evaluation based on theory in which people who can remember things most easily get the best results the teaching here is design-oriented you get a lot of assignments in which you have to apply the knowledge you have already gained you have to explore the possibilities to come up with the best design ­ of a chemical reactor a wind turbine or a solar cell this means you don t just acquire engineering knowledge but you also learn a great deal about its application and that s really useful in the industry
