polymers and composites tu/e a good choice high quality of education and research leading position in international university rankings excellent student facilities international contacts with leading universities eindhoven is a modern student city region of eindhoven technology hotspot in the netherlands ela sonmezler having a different experience which i could not have the chance of in turkey made me decide to do my master s at tu/e after completing my bachelor s at the istanbul technical university in the netherlands i can live and work with people from different cultures and learn from them at tu/e i have the opportunity putting more and more knowledge to real use with help from professionals i feel at home in eindhoven the city itself is a really quiet place and it s easy to get used to life here the residents here are really friendly furthermore the introduction week and the education and student service center made it easy to cope with my needs from the beginning also the staff of the chemical engineering and chemistry department helped me a lot to become familiar with the university within a couple of weeks their advice will help me succeed in my studies compared to turkey the educational system in the netherlands is more dynamic and provides more opportunity for students i like the freedom to choose different courses from different fields and the opportunity to specialize i m glad i took the chance to study at tu/e internship opportunities during your master s track you will do an internship of at least three months in a company in the netherlands or another country these companies can vary greatly in nature and size and include industrial multinationals service providers governmental institutions and engineering agencies during your company internship you will become familiar with the working practice of a professional chemical engineer you will gain experience in a multidisciplinary company where you will work on solving problems at the level of a starting engineer in addition you will learn how to conduct discussions and present results both verbally and in writing requirements for admission there are a number of general requirements for admission to master s degree programs and special master s tracks · you must have a relevant bachelor s degree or equivalent based on a program of sufficient academic level and quality to enable you to complete the tu/e master s degree program or special master s track to which you wish to be admitted · you must be able to demonstrate sufficient command of the language in which the program or track is taught all tu/e master s degree programs and special master s tracks are taught in english · to prove sufficient command of the english language you should submit an academic ielts research profile of the department or toefl test for the scores or exemptions you within the research profile polymer science can contact the international relations office and technology the department of chemical io@tue.nl or visit www.tue.nl/masterprograms engineering and chemistry carries out research on a wide range of subjects examples of these are the · there may be additional specific requirements for specific programs or tracks also depending on development of polymer solar cells polymer optical the nature of your prior education lenses environment-friendly coatings and polymers more information visit www.tue.nl/masterprograms in optical applications research is also carried out into the improvement of existing polymerization processes for example by means of new catalytic graduation options routes to allow lower-cost environment-friendly research focuses especially on the synthesis of production of polymers and finally the department new polymers and supramolecular materials and carries out research into the development of on the design and characterization of polymer entirely new categories of polymers in addition structures in addition a lot of emphasis is placed a large amount of application-oriented research on modeling the development of these structures is carried out often in close cooperation with the and studying the relationship between the structure chemical industry and properties of the material the ultimate aim of research is to be able to implement the optimum method of synthesis and processing of new polymers and polymer systems for new applications three graduation subtracks are possible within the polymer science and technology research profile · polymer chemistry in this subtrack research is focused on radical polymerization controlled radical polymerizations of nanostructures by means of emulsion polymerization step-growth polymerizations and new catalytic routes to macromolecules from basic raw materials · polymer technology this topic focuses on reactive processing morphology and properties of polymers optical and conductive polymers and nano-composites · coatings technology in this research area one works at the development of waterborne coatings powder coatings scratch-resistant coatings and the improvement of the adhesion of coatings to metals why study polymers and composites in eindhoven the chemical engineering department has for many years been the largest in terms of both teaching and research in the field of polymers in the netherlands the track has a strong international position because of the presence of a number of leading research schools and institutes graduated and then after the special master s track in polymers and composites you will be well prepared for a varied career this degree will give you a wide range of options in the labor market for example you could work as a researcher research leader process product engineer environmental consultant policy officer or teacher many managers in the chemical industry also have a background in chemical engineering in the business world you could take up a position that makes use of your organizational coordinating and leadership skills governments also employ large numbers of chemical engineers for example in environmental departments water boards and in healthcare in addition many of our graduates can be found in design and patent bureaus.
