international experience the ibms programme offers its students a blend of practical and theoretical knowledge students develop their knowledge competences and skills by participating in general lectures and study groups with other international students this enables them to apply their knowledge to expand their international network and familiarize themselves with a variety of cross-cultural situations basic programme in the first and second year of ibms a programme is offered which covers all ibms minors there are modules for finance accounting logistics management and marketing international management these modules are taught in a set structure first principles then advanced and finally applied next to these there are project management and organization management organization design international environment business social behaviour management of course there are economics and research methods principles quantitative methods advanced applied and business law in the profession-specific part of the programme you find the subjects critical thinking and organisation management year 2 european affairs emerging markets business ethics/corporate social responsibility risk management globalization consultancy change management year 3 and 4 these are subjects that are offered in the ibms programme alongside the minor of your choice.

minors in the third year of the programme students will choose their specialization ibms offers three in-depth minors finance accounting logistics management and marketing management placement in order to be able to put the theories of international business in a practical setting many students choose to gain working experience abroad in an industrial placement your placement is an integral part of the study programme however it is also possible to take a placement in the netherlands in an international company pre-ibms an ideal starting block for the four-year bachelor programme ibms in view of the level of english required and different teaching and academic standard around the world rotterdam business school has developed two pre-ibms coursed to prepare students for the international education programme these pre-ibms courses take twelve or six months and are concluded with an ibms entrance exam the 12-month programme ielts 5.0 or equivalent starts in september the 6-month programme ielts 5.5 or equivalent in february cambridge course an ideal 4-week preparation course for the four-year bachelor programme ibms students who meet the english language requirements to enter the ibms programme but are not used to the different teaching and academic standards rotterdam business school has developed the 4-week cambridge course the course will take place in the month of july and is meant for students who will enter the ibms programme in september the cambridge course will teach the students presentation skills working in project groups expressing opinions etc at the end of the course students will obtain a cambridge certificate the cambridge course is an additional course and does not replace an ielts test or pre-course.

the fast track curriculum in addition to the four-year study programme there is also a three-year study track for students who have completed the international baccalaureate ib the fast track these students take the first two years of the programme in one year the propaedeutic phase and the second year take one semester each after this year the students continue their study in the third year of the regular four-year programme accelerated ibms rotterdam business school offers a 1.5 or 2-year accelerated ibms programme for students who have already obtained a two or three year college degree in business or have finished either two or three years at university business related students with a minimum of one-year work experience after finishing two or three years of studying can apply for the 1.5-year programme students without relevant work experience are required to take a half-year placement after completing the 1.5-year programme graduates of the accelerated international business and management studies receive a bba degree accredited by the dutch accreditation council nvao.

application procedure the following steps are essential for the application procedure submit an application form with certified copies and english translations of your college degrees grades lists birth certificate and a copy of your passport plus five passport photos and your score of the english test students from china are required to obtain the `neso certificate information about this can be obtained from www.nesochina.org rotterdam business school will acknowledge receipt of the application form and inform you of the details of your intake interview and business test whenever possible the intake interview and business test will take place in your country of origin either in person or by telephone/skype if you are accepted you will receive a letter of admission an invoice and all necessary documentation from rotterdam business school you pay the invoice and send the signed statement of understanding to the school rotterdam business school will apply for a provisional residence permit mvv at the immigration office organise practical details such as a bank account health insurance and accommodation reservations on your behalf rbs will inform you when your mvv is ready to be collected you can collect your mvv at the dutch consulate or embassy in your country you make your own travel arrangements inform rotterdam business school with your flight details arrival in the netherlands prior to commencing the course rotterdam business school will pick up all those students who have made accommodation reservations application deadline you are requested to post the completed application form before june 1 which can be downloaded from our website www.rotterdambusinessschool.nl the international business and management studies starts only in september accommodation accommodation is provided by the rotterdam business school international housing office which provides rooms for students coming to rotterdam together with your admission letter you will receive a reservation form for accommodation please note that without a reservation accommodation cannot be guaranteed therefore it is important that you return the signed reservation form before the deadline mentioned in the form.
