with leading universities eindhoven is a modern student city region of eindhoven technology hotspot in the netherlands sean vos my graduation track is building technology and within that field i am focusing on product development i think my track is a good combination of architecture and technology you have to understand the concepts of the architect and then apply the technology to them in my second master s project i m working on the design of a movable hotel with 100 double rooms the hotel must be able to be built in one day for example at festival locations i m now working on an individual basis and looking at different concepts to be able to create the hotel within the schedule of requirements later we ll work out one of the concepts as a group taking into account basic principles like the customer experience practical feasibility and functionality the idea of a movable hotel came from a company and it s a very good learning experience to be involved in it in this way you have to consider not only whether it s possible in theory but you need to go one step further to see if it s also feasible in practice in the master s program you are expected to work more independently than during your bachelor s and that appeals to me i now have more opportunities to develop an in-depth project based on my own preferences and using your own initiative is appreciated it s hard work but if architecture building and planning is what you really want to do like me then you won t have any problems with that research profile of the department the final project is generally directly related to research projects and activities of the professorships group you will need to familiarize yourself in good time with these research activities for your final project the broad scope of the department of architecture building and planning means that the research areas are correspondingly broadly based one of the characteristics of the built environment is that its innovative design approach based on architecture in which you will focus on the partnership between various building-related disciplines · construction technology as a construction technology graduate you will focus on the interrelationship between the design and construction of a building on the one hand you will develop knowledge about the feasibility of a building plan while on the other hand you will develop an understanding of the values that inspire designers · building technology you will make an in-depth study of architecture building technology and product development · design decision support systems building it specialists specialize partly in it and partly in one or more building-related disciplines and the skills you gain will include prototype development developing computer programs and applying technologies · physics of the built environment here you will work on relationships between various physical aspects of buildings such as heat light and sound moisture and installed systems and technologies · real estate management development remd graduates in remd work on education and research in the management and development of real estate both at individual property level as well as area and portfolio level · structural design you will frequently work in teams with people from other disciplines developing design solutions carrying out research into the
