i find the international nature of the programme very attractive i thought it was important for my personal development to take my master s degree abroad the advantage of the msc in international financial management is that it combines two master s degrees in the space of one and a half years you take international business management in groningen in the first semester and the msc in business economics in uppsala in sweden in the second semester i gained my bsc in finance accounting in greece specializing in finance i opted for the msc in ifm because i wanted to enrich my academic horizon and ifm gives such an opportunity by providing financial insights under a managerial lens another attractive feature is that all the subjects in the programme are dealt with in an international framework i ve noticed that people in the netherlands and sweden are quite different the people in uppsala were a bit more relaxed and less high-spirited in groningen they re a bit more pushy that was good from the study point of view when we went to sweden for the second semester we suddenly found we didn t have so many tight deadlines to meet but considering that the education level in sweden is very high this was pretty tricky when our performance began to suffer we realized we need to focus better in the end it turned out to be a perfect combination in groningen the emphasis was on academic theory whereas the programme in uppsala had a more practical slant spyros mylonas 25 greece mscba in international financial management 7 ma_04_economiccs&business_09.ind11 11 24-08-2009 16:20:12
