homelearning week 3 kia ora koutou in action at winter sport games vs leeston hello and welcome to week 3 thankyou for your support at our friendly matches last week the children played hard and had a great time we are excited for the winter tournament on august 14th this is our last week of shape before we move back into numeracy we have been learning about polygons 3d shapes and nets we think our writing is really improving we are working hard to spell words we know how to spell correctly in our writing by sounding out the word and using our knowledge about similar words or words that rhyme have a great week michaela michaela@southbridge.school.nz be a journalist this week it is your job to be a journalist cut out a newspaper article that interests you you can use our school newspaper or one from home glue in the article and write a paragraph describing the who what where when and why give the article a new title that you think fits it and write a new caption for the photo if there is one make sure you write in full sentences that make sense a sentence ends with a full stop reread it to yourself to check summing up shape it s our last week of shape so here is your chance to sum up and share what you have learned make a poster/fact file about shape and your new knowledge you could include facts about -polygons and 3d shapes -corners faces and ver tices -nets -platonic solids -polyhedra brainteaser i have an eye but cannot see i am stronger and faster than any man alive what am i spelling times tables your weekly test is on friday here s how to learn them do it for each word every night write say cover look cover say spell aloud which one are you learning this week?
