nepal land package 8 days/7 nights itinerary day 1 november 13th ­ chitwan nepal drive to chitwan on the way we will stop for a rafting trip on the trishuli river in the evening we will take a walk through tharu village and enjoy a local cultural program approximately a 5 hour drive breakfast lunch and dinner included we will leave early in the morning and our first stop is a rafting trip at charaudi with a class iv rapid pulling us right into the excitement the trishuli river is a major river in nepal most of the river glides gently down south where you can relax and swim don t get too relaxed though as the river has enough rapids to keep you awake and on your toes.

day 2 november 14th ­ chitwan nepal a day in the jungle we will go on a safari take an elephant ride watch exotic birds ride a canoe and visit the elephant breeding center and stable breakfast lunch and dinner included we go to chitwan with a singular goal getting totally lost in the wilderness indeed our trip through chitwan national park will put us in touch with our wild side as we encounter baby elephants learn about the endangered gharials crocodiles ride through the dense tropical jungles and maybe even come face to face with a tiger we will safari either riding an elephant or in a four-wheel drive vehicle that evening we will relax on the beach by the rapti river and learn more about the tharu people and their unique culture.

day 3 november 15th ­ pokhara nepal drive to pokhara upon reaching pokhara we will explore the lakeside and enjoy a boat ride on fewa lake approximately a 4 hour drive breakfast and lunch included pokhara a charming city in western nepal will envelop us in its peaceful serenity it is known for its many lakes and the spectacular views of the annapurnas mountain range this is a city where nature takes over and time stops in the city we will meet trekkers and backpackers going towards and coming back from the annapurna circuit we will take a boat trip on the fewa lake which will infuse us with inner peace and calm.

day 4 november 16th ­ pokhara nepal sightseeing in pokhara ­ we will visit davis falls mahendra gufa bindabasani temple and the peace pagoda breakfast included optional activity­ paragliding at davis falls we will admire the awesome force of nature as the waterfall disappears into a natural tunnel we will also walk up to the peace pagoda a monument built by japanese monks which is dedicated to world peace the pagoda sits atop a hill over the fewa lake tranquility surrounds us as we reach the monument where we will be greeted by breathtaking views of the annapurnas and pokhara city we will make a steep climb to sarangkot early in the morning as the sun rises we will see its rays slowly grace the himalayan panorama in front of us stretching from dhaulagiri all the way to annapurna ii this is also where daring paragliders jump onto their aerial adventures paragliding optional/additional cost taking off on a paragliding adventure from sarangkot is a most memorable experience pokhara is among the top paragliding spots in the world as favorable wind conditions sweeping mountain views and expansive lakes make this adventure not only high-adrenaline but also replete with spectacular views.

day 5 november 17th ­ dhampus nepal trek to dhampus overnight stay at a tea house 1 hour drive 3 to 4 hours walk breakfast lunch and dinner included drive to dhampus-phedi for a moderate 3-4 hour trek to dhampus staying overnight in a traditional tea house set amidst the gorgeous vistas of the annapurnas so close one can almost touch them looking down we have a bird s eye view of the gurung villages an adventure in itself this trip might leave you longing to go deeper into the annapurnas day 6 november 18th ­ dhampus nepal trail back down and drive back to kathmandu about 3 hours walk approximately 7 hours drive breakfast and lunch included.

day 7 november 19th ­ kathmandu nepal sightseeing in kathmandu visit pashupati boudha and bhaktapur we will relax this day and enjoy a local cultural program breakfast lunch and dinner included kathmandu valley the beating heart of nepal is full of irresistible sights smells and sounds at every turn we see historic temples and palaces catching glimpses of the himalayas and exhuberant street festivals a fascinating combination of the old and the new kathmandu valley is home to six unesco world heritage sights we will visit the three durbar squares kathmandu patan and bhaktapur each with its unique history and architecture kathmandu durbar square is also where we find the home of kumari the living goddess of nepal hanuman dhoka palace is where nepal s kings lived until narayanhiti was built it houses a museum that chronicles nepal s royal history the square bustles with activity and we can see vegetable markets and stalls selling nepali artifacts patan durbar square is still the place to get wood stone and metal carvings as it houses a large community of carvers a quaint museum inside the square has carefully preserved nepal s ancient history and the bird s eye views into the square from the many rooftop cafes are extraordinary.

bhaktapur durbar square has dramatic architecture including a gate guarded by two huge lions and a magnificent palace with 55 windows the pashupatinath temple is one of the most sacred sites for hindus built in the pagoda style the temple sits on the banks of the river bagmati and is a memorial to lord shiva here we can find sadhu babas holy men in their colorful orange and yellow clothes devotees lined up to pray colorful flowers and holy offerings and cremation ceremonies at arya ghat on the bank of the bagmati swayambhunath stupa sits high on a hilltop and provides an excellent vantage point to see all of kathmandu we will also be entertained by the mischievous monkeys that live around the temple bouddhanath is an important pilgrimage site for tibetan buddhists the stupa looks beautiful at night when lamps are lit monks nuns and devotees all come here to chant prayers light lamps make offerings and seek guidance on their spiritual journeys day 8 november 20th ­ kathmandu nepal departure day breakfast included grandmother aama bombo
