r otterdam business school the rotterdam business school is the international school of the rotterdam university university of applied sciences when rotterdam business school was founded many new programmes were developed to meet the demands expressed by both students and the international business community innovation has always been the driving force behind the school s growth the possibilities for international exchanges and industrial placements are constantly being expanded while the school also welcomes more and more students from all over the world the international experience that students gain both in their studies and in the social environment gives them a head start that will be reflected in their success when applying for jobs worldwide pre-ibms an ideal starting block for the four-year bachelor programme international business and management studies ibms in view of the level of english required and different teaching and academic standards around the world rotterdam business school has developed two pre-bachelor courses to prepare students for the international education programme these pre-bachelor courses take twelve or six months and are concluded with an ibms entrance exam the 12-month programme starts in september the 6-month programme in february

international business and management studies pre-ibms courses are designed to prepare students for the international business and management studies programme ibms this bachelor programme is a management programme taught in english and officially accredited by the dutch accreditation council nvao this is a four-year programme including a 6-month placement as well as exchange possibilities with partner universities in various countries after the first two years students choose a specialization such as marketing management logistics management or finance accounting upon graduation students receive the internationally recognized bachelor of business administration bba degree programme pre-ibms pre-ibms programme uses theory and practice to improve the student s level of english putting the student s knowledge of the english language in practice is an important part of the course another aim of the course is to involve students in the dutch way of teaching and to familiarize them with business language and give them a basic knowledge of business subjects 12-month preparation course this course which starts in september prepares students with a lower intermediate level of english ielts 5.0 or toefl ibt 60 for the rotterdam business school s ibms entrance exam the course consists of an intensive english language programme with a focus on business english as well as various business subjects besides the english business communication and business subjects students will be made familiar with the dutch way of teaching presentation skills are taught students participate in discussions and are trained to work on projects 6-month preparation course this course which starts in february is intended for students who have a higher intermediate level of english ielts 5.5 or toefl ibt 70 the 6-month preparation course is equivalent to the second part of the 12-month course.

admission requirements 12-month pre-ibms programme high school diploma ielts 5.0 toefl ibt 60 intake interview 6-month pre-ibms programme high school diploma ielts 5.5 toefl ibt 70 intake interview ielts requirement in order to attract a high level of students rotterdam business school requires that students can only have one sub-score below the required overall score and only with 0.5 points for the 12-month pre-ibms course students can only have one 4.5 on the sub-scores all other scores need to be 5.0 or higher for the 6-month pre-ibms course students can only have one 5.0 on the sub-scores all other scores need to be 5.5 or higher tuition fees 12-month pre-ibms programme 6-month pre-ibms programme 7,500 3,750 prices of the tuition fee may be subject to change over the coming years.

application procedure the following steps are essential for the application procedure submit an application form with certified copies and english translations of your high school diplomas grades lists birth certificate and a copy of your passport five passport photos and your score of the english test students from china are required to obtain the `neso certificate information about this can be obtained from www.www.nesochina.org rotterdam business school acknowledges receipt of the application form and will inform you of the details of the intake interview whenever possible the intake interview will take place in your country of origin either in person or by telephone/skype if you are accepted you will receive a letter of admission an invoice and all necessary documentation from rotterdam business school you pay the invoice and send the signed statement of understanding to the school rotterdam business school will apply for a provisional residence permit mvv at the immigration office organize practical details such as a bank account health insurance and accommodation reservations on your behalf rbs will inform you when your mvv is ready to be collected you can collect your mvv at the dutch consulate or embassy in your country you make your own travel arrangements inform rotterdam business school with your flight details arrival in the netherlands prior to commencing the course rotterdam business school will pick up all those students who have made accommodation reservations application deadline before 1 june for the september intake and before 1 december for the february intake you are requested to post the completed application form which can be downloaded from our website www.rotterdambusinessschool.nl

accommodation accommodation is provided by the rotterdam business school international housing office which provides rooms for students coming to rotterdam together with your admission letter you will receive a reservation form for accommodation please note that without a reservation accommodation cannot be guaranteed therefore it is important that you return the signed reservation form before the deadline mentioned in the form.
