humility show true humility to all men as we re told in titus 3:2 this is how paul tells titus to act toward the people of corinth where he is trying to settle problems in their church character and humility were qualities paul both preached and lived in miletus paul said he had served the lord with great humility and with tears acts 20:19 when we read of his bold defense of the faith and his aggressive preaching of the gospel we wonder how it could be described as tearful and tender in today s world we are taught to be assertive and have a tendency toward self-affirmation and we wonder how is it possible to be humble jesus showed humility to others at all times humility starts in the thoughts you have concerning others paul wrote in phil.2:3&4 do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit but in humility consider others better than yourselves each of you should look not only to your own interests but also to the interests of others instead of living for self as is the what s in it for me attitude we should say what can i do for you god gives grace to the humble not to the prideful humble yourselves therefore under god s mighty hand that he may lift you up in due time 1peter 5:6 personal humility is a spiritual discipline and the hallmark of service of jesus ga chaplain jerry mason july 22nd abate of florida gator alley chapter page 7
