i had the opportunity to participate in the first expedition and it was incredible the atmosphere created on board was extraordinary all of us focussed on one sole thing enjoying nature the places we visited were unique off the typical beaten tourist track and professionally guided to perfection those of us who participated on this trip had the chance to share and learn from great photographers who had the grandeur and generosity to share many of their experiences i would definitely recommend it i would do it again cristian amunategui

patagonia that magic enchanting word which evokes a herd of wild horses galloping freely across boundless steppes the patagonia of your imagination really does exist right here at the southern tip of the americas shared by chile and argentina it spans an area of approximately 1.000.000 km² 385.000 sq miles of expansive lands on either side of the andes the longest mountain chain in the world we will concentrate on the most remote part of this territory the southernmost patagonia the very wildest scarcely populated southern patagonia consists of vast never-ending steppes where in sparsely scattered estancias are raised sheep for wool and meat production as well as cattle and horses closer to the mountains you ll find many forests and immense lakes enormous glaciers cascade down from the towering peaks like frozen rivers settling in the great lakes by the eastern slopes or in the seascapes that bathe them to the west both countries have established an important number of national parks to preserve the environment and its wildlife a true paradise for any nature lover and especially for photographers these wild untamed landscapes are perhaps among the last remaining on the planet still barely explored the great southern ice fields for instance are the largest in the world after antarctica and greenland extending over 14,000 km² 5.400 sq miles © 2010 luis bertea r.

there are many opportunities to photograph well-known yet untouched landscapes endless steppes fjords and channels with coasts densely covered in temperate almost impenetrable forests great lakes and crystal-clear rivers huge mountains with magnificent glaciers this is home to more than 100 bird species and 30 different kinds of mammals at the southern end of the world you will also be able to enjoy spectacular dawns and sunsets with clouds tinged in oranges and reds bizarrely-shaped by the force of the southern winds but most importantly you will be far away from all populated or industrial areas in an absolutely pollution-free environment of the purest skies a perfect backdrop for all amateurs and professionals with a passion for photography who should not pass up the chance to delight in the marvels of this remote corner of the world at least once in life we look forward to having you join us here in the wild landscape of patagonia whether you choose to embark on our sea expedition sailing through unknown fjords and channels or prefer travelling overland to see some of the famous corners of patagonia such as torres del paine national park in chile or los glaciares national park in argentina along with other places in patagonia which are virtually unexplored welcome to the end of the planet © 2010 luis bertea r 9
