te uku school newsletter 20/12 tena koutou e te whanau o te uku 28 june 2012 te uku school opening of the multipurpose room friday 29 june 5:45am tn r koutou katoa nau mai haere mai ki te whakatuwheratanga o te whare hou ko te hau wha ki te ono te wa timata mauria mai koa he kai kia parakuihi tahi ai ttau please park at the front of the school or in the te uku hall car park we have checked this is ok with the hall committee then assemble in the car park near metal driveway at 5:45am we will be entering the building through the double doors next to the metal driveway we really encourage our tamariki to come along matua russell will lead the blessing starting at 6:00am we do not need to remove our shoes following the opening we will move up to the main administration area to the multipurpose room to have our shared breakfast please bring a plate of `finger food ready to be placed on the table you can deliver it to this room before the ceremony or collect it from your car after the ceremony we would prefer it if the food was ready to eat `as is so that you are not having to organise the heating and/or preparation of it juice and water will be available in the multipurpose room staff will serve tea coffee and milo from the staffroom please be prepared to take your children home after the breakfast the teachers will be involved in clearing the multipurpose room cleaning up in the kitchen and getting ready for the school day up until the buses arrive hoping to see lots of our families here nice and early on friday morning remember to dress warmly this is an exciting day for te uku school one to be celebrated with pride and excitement school visit to waingaro marae we have booked our whole school visit to waingaro marae for friday 31 august mrs clarkson and room 5 will be going there the afternoon before and sleeping over the main focus of this visit is to develop our understanding of powhiri there will be other learning as well there will be a whanau hui early next term to plan the trip this date will advertised in the newsletter spelling bee congratulations to all of the children who have successfully completed their spelling bee and collected their sponsorship money we have seen some very amazing amounts of money coming in this has been a very well supported fundraising event many thanks to everyone for getting in behind this project book fair during the week of interviews 23 to 27 july we will be holding our annual book fair we will send out more details in the first week after the holidays holiday break hoping that all of the children have a relaxing and happy break we look forward to some exciting events in term 3 school starts back on monday 16 july nga mihi ki a koutou rachel allan
