a woman`s daughter had asked the local minister to come and pray with her mother when the minister arrived he found the woman lying in bed with her head propped up on two pillows an empty chair sat beside her bed the minister assumed that the woman had been informed of his visit ,i guess you were expecting me he said ,no who are you said the mother the minister told her his name and then remarked ,i saw the empty chair and i figured you knew i was going to show up ,oh yeah the chair said the bedridden woman ,would you mind closing the door puzzled the minister shut the door ,i have never told anyone this not even my daughter said the woman ,but all of my life i have never known how to pray at church i used to hear the pastor talk about prayer but it went right over my head i abandoned any attempt at prayer the old woman continued until one day four years ago my best friend said to me of having a conversation with jesus ,sit down in a chair place an empty chair in front of you and in faith see jesus on the chair it`s not spooky because he promised ,i will be with you always ,then just speak to him in the same way you`re doing with me right now ,so i tried it and i`ve liked it so much that i do it a couple of hours every day i`m careful though if my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair she`d either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm the minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old woman to continue on the journey then he prayed with her anointed her with oil and returned to the church two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her mama had died that afternoon did she die in peace he asked yes when i left the house about two o`clock she called me over to her bedside told me she loved me and kissed me on the cheek when i got back from the store an hour later i found her but there was something strange about her death apparently just before mom died she leaned over and rested her head on the chair beside the bed what do you make of that the minister wiped a tear from his eye and said ,i wish we could all go like that prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive i asked god for water he gave me an ocean i asked god for a flower he gave me a garden i asked god for a friend he gave me all of you if god brings you to it he will bring you through it happy moments praise god difficult moments seek god quiet moments worship god painful moments trust god every moment thank god submitted by bro jelks 7[close]

never underestimate the power of god les and whatever your grocery list weighs i will give you that amount in groceries louise hesitated a moment with a bowed head then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it she then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed the eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down the grocer staring at the scales turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly i can t believe it special grocery list louise redden a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face walked into a grocery store she approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries she softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work they had seven children and they needed food the customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales the scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until john longhouse the grocer scoffed at her and the scales would hold no more the grocer stood requested that she leave his store at once there in utter disgust finally he grabbed the pivisualizing the family needs she said please ece of paper from the scales and looked at it with sir i will bring you the money just as soon as i greater amazement it was not a grocery list it can john told her he could not give her credit was a prayer which said dear lord you know since she did not have a charge account at his my needs and i am leaving this in your hands store the grocer gave her the groceries that he had standing beside the counter was a customer gathered and stood in stunned silence louiwho overheard the conversation between the se thanked him and left the store the other two the customer walked forward and told the customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grogrocer that he would stand good for whatever cer and said it was worth every penny of it only god knows how much a prayer weighs she needed for her family the grocer said in a very reluctant voice do you have a grocery list louise replied yes submitted by biwi sir o.k he said put your grocery list on the sca8[close]

gedanken einer kerze 10 schaut so ist es auch mit euch menschen entweder ihr zieht euch zurück bleibt für euch und es bleibt kalt und leer oder ihr geht auf die menschen zu und schenkt ihnen von eurer wärme und liebe dann erhält euer leben sinn aber dafür müsst ihr etwas in euch selbst hergeben etwas von eurer freude von eurer herzlichkeit von eurem lachen vielleicht auch von eurer traurigkeit aber je länger ich brenne desto kürzer werde ich meine nur wer sich verschenkt wird reicher ich ich weiß es gibt immer beide möglichkeiten für mich entweder bleibe ich im karton nur wer andere froh macht wird selbst froh je unangerührt vergessen im dunkeln oder aber mehr ihr für andere brennt um so heller wird es ich brenne werde kürzer gebe alles her was ich in euch selbst ich glaube bei vielen menschen ist habe zugunsten des lichtes und der wärme es nur deswegen düster weil sie sich scheuen somit führe ich mein eigenes ende herbei anderen ein licht zu sein ein einziges licht das und doch ich finde es schöner und sinnvoller brennt ist mehr wert als alle dunkelheit der welt etwas herzugeben zu dürfen als kalt zu bleiben also lasst euch ein wenig mut machen von mir und im düsteren karton zu liegen einer winzigen kleinen kerze.» «jetzt habt ihr mich entzündet und schaut in mein licht ihr freut euch an meiner helligkeit an der wärme die ich spende und ich freue mich dass ich für euch brennen darf wäre dem nicht so läge ich vielleicht irgendwo in einem alten karton sinnlos nutzlos sinn bekomme ich erst dadurch dass ich brenne.[close]

der anfang des gebets der meister versammelt seine jünger und fragte sie was ist der anfang des gebets der erste antwortete in der not denn not lehrt beten wenn ich not empfinde dann wende ich mich von selbst an gott der zweite antwortete im glück denn wenn ich glücklich bin verlasse ich das gefängnis meiner Ängste und sorgen und bekomme einen blick für gott der dritte in der stille denn wenn ich schweige dann kann gott sprechen der vierte im stammeln des kindes ist der anfang des gebets denn erst wenn ich wieder werde wie ein kind wenn ich mich nicht schäme vor gott zu stammeln dann ist er ganz groß und ich bin ganz klein und beginne über gott zu staunen und zu ihm zu beten daraufhin sagte der meister ihr habt alle gut geantwortet aber es gibt noch einen anfang und der ist früher als all das was ihr genannt habt das gebet beginnt nämlich bei gott selbst er fängt an nicht wir 11[close]

trost an dunklen tagen meine liebeserklärung an unseren herrn mein vater durch manche dunklen tage bin ich gegangen doch du hast mich immer wieder getröstet und aufgefangen du bist immer wieder bei mir bei tag und bei nacht hast stets über mich gewacht und bin ich manchmal traurig und habe eine schuld begangen so hast du mein herr mein herz berührt und mich auf den richtigen weg geführt wie oft weiss ich nicht mehr ein und aus dann spreche ich mit dir und du führst mich aus dem dunklen tal ins licht und sagst zu mir mein kind fürchte dich nicht mein herz ist voll dank und lobgesang mein ganzes leben lang danke auch für deinen sohn jesus christus der für unsere sünden am kreuz gestorben ist das größte geschenk hast du mein herr uns menschen gegeben das du deinen geliebten sohn für und geopfert hast ich danke dir von ganzem herzen dafür das befreit uns von jeglicher last in großer liebe für immer deine tochter submitted by sis gerda 12[close]
