to sites that have adult criminal and violent material that can be disturbing to young minds therefore restricting chat and information regarding the above words is essential in schools selection of material preview the materials and sites they require students to access to determine the appropriateness of the material contained on or accessed through the site teachers should always preview all material over the internet before the students are exposed to it even educational websites like safari montage teacher tube etc can have advertisements which can expose the students to material that is not age appropriate parental notification and responsibility as appropriate the department will provide students and parents with guidelines and instructions for student safety while using the internet i believe that parents the school should have a workshop to expose parents to the various website that are children friendly and websites that are not appropriate for their children parents must be notified of any circulars sent by the department of education in regard to internet safety also parents should be told to monitor and guide the students while using websites at home and the various ways adult content can be blocked at home back to table of content my project 2 page 7

science my science lesson with lesson plan and student assessment the new york department of education has state assessment for grades 4 and 8 only these are state tests that are taken once a year all other grade has internal exams and therefore less emphasis is given to science in the classroom i believe that the state should have assessments for grade 3 and over just like the way they have for the ela and math as a teacher i love to experiment and try new theories in science i have dedicated a page on my google site with resources and links to various webpages and experiments that can be used in the classroom click on the picture to view a smartboard lesson i conducted a science experiment to differentiate conductors from insulators it is an experiment that is frequently asked on the 4th grade science lab her i had students touch the two ends of a battery to an object using wires if they saw a light bulb that was connected to my project 2 page 13
