visit our blog at http springstonadventurers.blogspot.co.nz have you got any old newspaper cardboard boxes ice cream containers tops and lids off jars or bottles paper offcuts etc thanks so far for the paper we would love some more bits and pieces resources what s happening fyi starting school party our starting school party will be this week on thursday we will meet all the children who are going to join us throughout term 3 and have some fun and party food together choice and challenge cooking cafe springston gardening club arty farty robotics i-pads rock build it paint it wonderful wheels the children get to take part in one of these activities on a friday morning from 9:30 10:15 they love it and we would love any extra help at this time if you think you could run an activity please come and let me know as the more we can offer the better our trip to orana park was fantastic this amazing photo was taken by lachlan ou bee 19 june 2012 the end of term is fast approaching julia has joined our class as our student teacher for the rest of the term it is great to have her in the class we have assembly on friday and will be doing our save the endangered animal dance this will be held in the hall at 2pm we finish school on the 29th of june and we are back again for the start of term 3 on the 16th of july our theme for next term is digging up the past we are going to look at some ancient civilisations especially the ancient greeks and incorporate the olympic games old and new into our learning if you have anything that you think might be useful let me know learning conversations will happen in week 3 when we can look at the children s progress together and discuss their next goals if you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to come and have a chat g andin tst home learning what you can do at home 1 read read read your child can read one or more of the books they have bought home please sign their reading log and make a comment 2 word book did your child bring home a word to learn today check it out and see what they are up to in their word book 3 cut up sentence your child may bring home an envelope with their story from the day cut up inside the sentence is written on the outside for you to read before they put the sentence back together again to read back to you but if they are just too tired read to them instead any questions please email me or come and see me uniform reminder thermals can be worn during winter white under white shirts and black under green shirts tartan culottes or black straight legged pants and black or white socks or black tights for girls grey shorts or black straight-legged pants and grey socks for boys.
