your dofe programme · · the concept of the dofe award is that anyone aged between 14 and 24 can do a programme at one of three levels which when completed lead to a bronze silver or gold award there are four sections at bronze and silver level and five at gold volunteering -undertaking service to individuals or the community it is about choosing to give time to do something useful without getting paid it can be helping people the community or society the environment or animals physical improving in an area of sport dance or fitness the aim is to achieve greater physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle through participation and improvement in physical activity almost any dance sport or fitness activity can count as long as progression is demonstrated skills to develop practical and social skills and personal interests from podcasting to playing a musical instrument fine art to website design cookery to sports coaching learning to drive the opportunities are endless expedition planning training for and completion of an adventurous journey the aim is to develop initiative and a spirit of adventure and discovery by planning training for and completing an adventurous journey as part of a team additionally at gold level residential to spend five days in a residential situation with people they don t know outside of your normal environment · · · · ·
