page 3 felipe rengifo urrea difficult to describe it´s difficult to describe how i am i am a blond hair guy with big eyes and normal stature i like to play tennis soccer and be with my family also i like to play paintball i study at rochester school and i am coursing 9 th grade i have a lot of hobbies but one of the most i like is being with my family and friends i like to share ideas with different people talking about my family i have four brethren and one dog my parents are called claudia maria urrea and roberto rengifo i lives with them the purpose of the author writing this article and magazine is to show the reader more about the author and how did i worked trough the year in my projects in the different bimester and share some articles and opinions about different things.

page 4 my experience about opening an animal´s lung moment and finally it arrived it was last hour and john started to give all of my group the instructions for looking what all the students were searching for that that was the bronchioles arteries veins and the texture of the lung it was made of first my group that was juan camilo vargas,juan camilo cruz,daniel delgado and felipe rengifo started touching the upper surface of the lung and knowing what type of tissue is the lung made of then we started observing it more carefully and then we opened with a small vertical cut in the left lung and we could saw the bronchioles that are the tiny tubes that let the passage of air inside the lung and the alveoli the class was finishing and the time passed faster than we think finally as the image shows the lung was cute into many parts and we achieve what we want it was a grateful experience to touch a real organ it was a great experience opening a mamal´s lung opening the left lung for seeing the bronchioles in biology class all the class of 9b were seeing the respiratory systems of mammals john the teacher said that for knowing more and having in mind how is a real lung of a mammal that is the human lung we were going to do a laboratory of that i was very anxious for that

page 6 different fire colors it is so difficult to describe what i saw in that moment in chemistry class it was my first chemistry lab that i was happy and excited it was first hour and i brought all the materials to class what the teacher said the class before my lab group was juan camilo vargas juan camilo cruz laura gonzalez and me we had a previous work that makes us the work easier that was a chart with all the steps and doing all good for having a great experience and grade off course we started doing step by step every group in the class had to rotate for seeing different colors of the fire with different chemical compound that the teacher had ready we started in the first table and the color was normal then we passed to the other and the color of the fire was purple the third table was the best because it had a intense yellow and a low green and that mix was incredible and the last table was normal because the fire was normal but the curious thing was that at the end the flame was a very intense red i think it is the best lab i had done until the moment in a chemistry class my best experience in a chemistry lab with different fire colors me putting a chemical compound in the fire my group partner juan camilo vargas.

page 7 an interwiew to juan camilo vargas galarza curious time interviewed juan camilo vargas for knowing more about his academic and personal life juan camilo is a grateful experience to interview one of the best rochester students in 9 grade started playing it when i went to live to u.s.a so my dad told me that i needed to play a sport and i decide it to play baseball why did you went to live to u.s.a thanks you very much for me is nice to be with curious time i was born in bogotá colombia in march 3 of 1996 where did you born i was too little but what i remember was because my father´s work was there that sounds nice so when did you came to live to bogota since you were a little kid you liked a lot the baseball why did you started playing it yes it is one of my favorite sport i think it is but i i came to live here in 2005 and entered to the rochester school were i am happy and studying very hard.

page 8 what life is better like in conditions and those things well like i told you i was very young when i lived in the u.s it was a great experience living on another country but since i came here colombia is better tan there i like the way the people is with you so the people of colombia are better than the americans in what ways in my point of view colombian people are more funny they are happier loving entrepreneurs i have had really good experiences with colombian people finally this is my country the one that i love what about your school the teacher your friends the way they teach the rochester school is the best i like a lot my school my friends are nice and i pass really good moments with them the teachers also are good some teach in really good ways that make me easier understand the things but my school is the best do you continue playing baseball yes know i play it because it is my favorite spot and because i have fun playing it i am playing at the bogota league i played in punta cana representing my country and what about your social life what do you do in your free time my social life is nice i like it when i have time i go out with my friends and party hard laughs in my free time i stay on the computer watch t.v listen to music and seldom i read books well know curious time knows more about you it was very nice to interview you and sharing some things about your life curious time copy right 2011

page 9 my history magazine in history class all ninth graders were seeing the world war ii and it´s consequences for showing the teacher that i understood the topic and i know all the history of this war i created a magazine about a technological device that was invented in those years this magazine that i created with my group that was maria camila aponte monica roa maria jose cuervo juan camilo cruz and felipe rengifo had the history of how the plane was created one of the most important discovernmets in those years the plane was invented by the wright brothers but in those years the technology was not the best so it wasn´t to powerful until the next 10 years they improved more and more and it was used for the combats between the countries this was my project of the first bimester in history class i really enjoy it.

page 11 practically a doctor in biology class second bimester begins and every time is harder i like a lot those experiments and laboratories like the one we did in one of the first classes of biology it all started when 9b saw the circulatory system and all it´s main parts in vertebrates and invertebrates john jairo the biology class teacher assigned us a guide for being prepare for the day my class 9b was going to open a mammal´s heart that is practically the same as the human heart we developed all the guide and showed it to the teacher and continued with the topic that was really interesting because we saw in one class the most important organ in the circulatory system the heart and all it´s main parts and functions all 9b was prepared for opening the mammal´s heart the day finally arrived and we obeyed the rules that john gave us before start opening it fifteen minutes later the class had begin my biology class group that was juan camilo cruz juan camilo vargas daniel delgado orlando cabeza and me felipe rengifo take out the heart and started searching what we wanted to look for that were the ventricles and the vena cava exactly we did two cuts in it one in the right side and the other in the left side and we saw a perfect and normal heart from a cow and obviously the two main things my group was looking for we saw it until we now all it´s structure and the class finished it was a very great experiment beginning the second bimester with the right feet as the people says the cow´s heart opened in the two ventricles for seeing the inside part of the heart were all the important structures are for the blood flow.

page page 12 12 roger federer a master in the tennis court federer a name that has made a quantity of history in the tennis court around all the world in the last 7 years the best tennis player considered by some experts in tennis and retired tennis players in all tennis history his way of playing his technique in the court his swing and his mind makes him one of the most talent players nowadays with 28 years he has roger federer was born practically with a racquet in his hand he took a tennis racquet when he was 7 year old and his dad never thought that roger was not going to be a good player because he didn´t like to play it and he had abad temper when he played through the pass of the years robert his dad never got tire of insist roger playing almost all the days of the week in a club near his home until he began playing tournaments in all his natal country that is switzerland every time more serious and not for fun as the beginning he had win a lot of tournaments the years passed normally and he everytime was playing better and was the best tennis player of switzerland in 2000 as a normal tennis player he entered to the atp roger federer has win more than 15 grand slams the best title in a tennis career he has win the four of them australian open roland garros wimbledon and the last of each year the us open he is the player with the most quantity of tittles in the tennis circuit letting behind pete sampras and john mcenroe federer is going to beat more records during the next three or four years association tennis players and started his carrer until now he has betten a lot of recors in the courts.

page 13 ¡traveling with mathematics math one of the most difficult subjects in the rochester school in the second bimester of this year ninth grade started the period with degrees and circles we ninth b saw all the things of the circle that were it´s formulas exercise the units of the answers and the project we saw this topic for a complete week and we did an exam for this during that week we did some exercises one of the most important one was the one we compare two cities and saw it´s difference in degrees according to the parallel both cities were located then we did an exam for having part of the final grade finally for having achieved the learnings expectations of the circle and degrees the grade we did a project related with circles that was in pairs the project was about the two cities practically the same as the exercise we did on the week we saw t h e topic my pair was juan camilo cruz we decided to make the comparisons between washington d.c and quito that are located in the same parallel we took the difference they had in distance and we had the results additionally of this point of the project we took the time hours an airplane last from quito to washington d.c in delta airways we presented to th class and pasted it n the wall of the math class this project was really nice because i like too much the airplanes and i enjoy all the things related to them so it was very enriching because i didn t know too much about this topic the poster that juan camilo and i made for presenting it in class.
