ralph the elected leader in the beginning of the book he is the primary source of civilization order and organization while most of the boys are fooling around playing in the sand and avoiding work ralph is finding a way to get food and maximize security as the book goes on his rank as a leader declines jack soon rebells against ralph and takes a lot of the boys with him as fights and arguments go on ralph struggles to keep the boys in order ralph page 1

piggy he plays a huge role in the book lord of the flies in the beginning of the book he stands right to the side of ralph the call him ralph s lieutenant he does every thing for ralph then after a little while ralph starts to make fun of him and leave piggy out after they get in to a fight ralphs realize that he could use piggy again like when they need to light a fire on the hill they could not have done it with out piggy they started the fire with piggy s glasses to describe piggy is that he shows the scientific rational side of civilization page 2

jack who is jack jack in the book is one of the leaders in a group jack being one of the leaders he is always in a battle with the other group jack and his team or group is kind of mean they have stolen things and taken things from other people they used to be a nice group of people but now everything is setting in and they are going crazy jack is one of the many characters that have lost his mind.l car this is jack ready to fight.

simon by antonio i will never know my name is simon i have witnessed many things in my short life i have seen friends killed and i have felt my true personality disintegrate what i thought about this island is not what it turned out to be i had the opportunity to lead my friends and give advice nobody listened i knew what was right just and true i knew that the beast lived inside of all of us while the other boys were consumed by fighting i was the one who got killed they killed me i tried to tell them i ll never see what happened to the others did they get saved did they die what happened i will never know simon the underdog of the group afraid to show his feelings.

beginning by antonio in the beginning of the book a group of boys are dropped on an island after a plane crashed with all of them in it with the pilot dead and no adults to help them the boys are confused the plane crashed during wwii after the city the boys lived in was evacuated.

middle by antonio in the middle of the novel the boys try to set up a govt they continue to fail and their ideas get lost in the ruckus all jumbled together every boys thoughts were never listened to as the fighting goes on jack and ralph split up into different groups they constantly go back and forth aruing and fighting who knows what happens read the book

deaths on the island by antonio towards the end of the violent ending of the book two rough and disturbing deaths occur when simon a main character from the book comes back from journey to deliver some information he is ambushed and attacked by the boys the other death occurred when piggy was knocked off the mountain by a rolling boulder piggy was lead to an unfortunate death caused by a natural occurrence these two scenes were vital to the course of the novel because one showed how changed the boys had become and the other represented a sad ending to a life.

safe at last by antonio until the very end the book was filled with violence and savagery all of the boys had to fend for themselves in a battle for life at the very end the book became interesting when the boys were saved by an officer who had come by boat to help he quickly gave the boys a minute to regain their composure and then the book ended the officer represented an important figure as the parental guidance to help the boys in the end ralph first capturing the image of the officer.

letter by antonio dear piggy i know you probably can t read this after i send it out into the ocean but i would like to say a few things although i picked on you teased you and tormented you i want to let you know you were a true friend to me i couldn t find the courage in my heart to express how i really felt about your quick wit and your confidence to be yourself without that on the island we would have been nothing the way you said whatever was on your mind really surprised me that was all i have to say sincerely,

theme by antonio the theme of this book is the lack of control without authority the boys lose control after being abandoned alone when the boys try to set up a govt alone it completely fell apart the small bit of organization led them to go the wrong way in liviing on the island.

he found them in the end when they were all crazy when the officer showed up it helped calm them down a little the kids had all looked up to him so he was kind of the parent he was the one that was going to save them and help them all in the end officer was the guy that came and gave a little unity the officer in the lord flies represents the authority and the parental figure officer

the beast the beast plays an important role in this book in the beginning of the book it was just in the boy s imagination it was a fear of the unknown wilderness put into a simple word but then as the book moves on simon said that the the beast is only in ourselves he was trying to say that we are making the beast and there is no actual beast it s just in our minds thene when simon had the meditation scene with the pig s head the lord of the flies says to him i m the beast

diary ralph i look back for those couple of weeks that we were stranded on the island and i can t seem to figure out why things happened that way why did jack get so angry and make his own group why did we have to fight for position on the island why did i let piggy and simon die i blame myself for all of these things and now that i m looking back on it i can t believe that i let my own friends die i just want to say sorry simon and sorry piggy.
