our mission statement the unique mission of new tech west high school is to equip students with strong social and technical skills to produce graduates who are prepared for sucess in the 21st century workplace what is a new tech national school school a new tech school is funded by a nonpro t organization that helps high school students gain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in life college and the careers of tomorrow we work nationwide with schools districts and communities to provide services and support that enable schools to implement innovative high schools that promote deeper learning why chose a new tech school choosing a new tech school is a great choice for you and your child to ubstain a technological education our newtech schools provide students to stretch beynd theirhorizons and have a learning process that will prepare them for real world things.

what is pbl project based learning is an instructional approach built upon authentic learning activities that engage student interest and motivation these activities are designed to answer a question or solve a problem and generally re ect the types of learning and work people do in the everyday world outside the classroom -how will we vote spanish project-based learning projects in spanish we learned about the political aspect of immigrants and what positives and negatives they have on our country final project was to conduct a debate based on the statement you wer given with your peer -hunger games chemisty/algebra2 our class was given the oppertunity to build our own arena based of the original movie the hunger games and was later graded by the district the district also funded for us to go see the movie as a class -amor que te gusta hacer spanish we used our previous knowledge on what we knew about what we like to do and make and we presented a collage to our class based on ourselves -fracking steam algebra2/chemistry each group has to make a presentation on the impact of hydraulic fracturing in ohio and explain the steam process and how that is a ecting us each group will present to the senator of ohio -bloom s taxonomy digital media each student picked a topic to discover more in depth to discover the topic more in depth we are using digital media tools and sites to create a revised bloom s taxonomy learning matrix based on our individual topic.

sports clubs here at new tech we hae a number of sports to be apart of we share our sports with max hayes highschool also we have a variety of clubs we take part in every friday clubs organizations athletics basketball track swimming baseball weightlifting volleyball softball soccer golf cross country tennis cheerleading bowling intramurals robotics video-gaming national honor society key meditation special olympics art chess student council at new tech west we learn and incorporate fun into what we do here we have had many eld trips being both educational and fun -cedar point -cleveland steam -film festival -clevland state university -supreme court -hunger games movie

personalized education new tech west has a system of project based learning in this style of learning it is more contextual creative and shared students will collaborate on projects to enhance critical thinking and communication the use of technology supports an innovative approach to instruction and culture students will become self-directed learners who will not need to rely on textbooks or teachers for knowledge and direction and that is what makes us unique as well longer school days and year longer school days are what makes us like no other because we strive for a bigger push in our students to want to be more involved in school activity by them sustaining a technological mindset for over seven hours a day ve days a week in which has promoted an increase in school days also early college programs hear at newtech west we provide an early college program called high tech where we put students to the test with higher based learning and college readiness high tech would be considered our honors classes as well as pesop online access to classroom records students at anytime can check in on upcoming projects missing assignments what work they need and have and grades for the quarter it will even tell them their gpa and teacher comments students can send emails to teachers as well as peers to keep up on work amongst each other.

what makes us unique we have a main criteria of work ethic collaboration communication and technology literacy we base our learning of these four main ideas and having our students focus on this motive and project based learning will for sure help them become independently better students our students culture we are responsible -we have great attendance -we are very organized -meet deadlines -take full responsibilty for ourselves and our actions we are respectful -respectful of each other -judge people on their merits -courteous polite -kind appreciative -respectfulmof ourselves we are professional -we care about ournaaprearance -we are accountable -we have outstading demenor -we are reliable -we strive for success

our expectations for our parents students teachers and administrators is to come together for the betterment of our students education and their educational purpose at new tech we have to come together and create a positive and safe community for our students and staff our parents are here to support their students at new tech and encourage greatness and success community partnerships since its founding in the mid 90s new tech network ntn has capitalized on this renewed cooperative spirit between education and the business/community arena ntn understands the importance of partnering with business and community leaders to assure that all students get a quality education that readies them for college and career partnerships take a variety of forms financial collaborative advisory and operational and ntn schools work with their partners in various ways many of the business and community partners participate by offering internships to students or providing an opportunity for a senior project many ntn seniors either undertake a
