newtech s history our school started in california and moved across the united states new tech high schools are american high schools in which the core curriculum is taught through project-based learning and computer work the schools are modeled after the new technology high school in napa california and supported by the new technology foundation as of february 2010 there are 41 new tech schools in nine states in the us schools require high teacher to student ratio and a minimum of one computer per student.
