closing message from kelli as the school year closes i find myself reflecting on the st past three years the 1 two of which i served as h.s.a president and the past year as transition chairperson in doing so i realize how grateful i am many of you are thinking grateful that it s over which of course is partially true mostly however i am grateful for the opportunity to work and spend time with so many wonderful people new relationships were formed with parents teachers administrators and parishioners who volunteered countless times over the past three years i am grateful for the opportunity to work with our entire faculty the parish business office and fr wilson to develop a greater understanding of their devotion to our children and school i am grateful for the 2008/2009 h.s.a executive board and chairpersons with whom i spent many many hours working and laughing through each and every function our school sponsored they have continued to volunteer in various capacities throughout the current year as well i am blessed to count them as my closest friends finally i am grateful for the support of my husband and children who spent so many hours without me while i worked at or planned a school event some probably feel that s a reason for them to be grateful and again this is partially true but i know the sacrifices they ve made thank you paul chris allie and nate the new h.s.a executive board is hard at work planning the upcoming year they are full of energy and ideas a great combination i am confident they will serve our school and our children well i wish them many blessings kelli russ bowe opening message from yolanda new hsa president i hope you are all excited about the beginning of summer as the president-elect of the hsa with a term beginning in august i wanted to start by asking for volunteers for two very important committees we need volunteers for the hospitality committee this committee also includes all classroom parent liaisons and for the fundraising committee these are two very important committees that play a part in almost all of our activities throughout the year if you are interested please fill out the on-line volunteer form the link is in the email that accompanied the newsletter just click on the link or email me at hsasaintrose@gmail.com if you are interested in chairing a committee please indicate this in your email the link to the volunteer form will also be available on the school website thank you yolanda appollonio the year is coming to a close i cannot believe how quickly it came to an end it has been a wonderful year our students have again proven that st rose of lima is built on faith and strong academics many of our students have not only achieved honor roll status but have received many awards i am privileged to say that three of our of our eighth graders received scholarships to bishop hendricken high school philip keefe brenden wildenhain and daniel mason there are ten of these scholarships awarded each year aaron mackisey received the st rose scholarship for christian behavior the saint rose scholarship will help to reduce aaron s tuition for the next school year daniel mason is the rhode island state winner of our scholastic challenge this is a computer test that test general knowledge our students achievements continue to be recognized by awards such as poetry awards writing awards and more many of our teachers value education and show this by continuing to take college courses and workshops to further their education all of these things and the success of our school have been directly affected by you the parents and your positive talk i thank you for your support and participation i encourage everyone to get involved next year because there will be great things happening at st rose i will close with sending a blessing out to each of you i urge you to pray for all the students new and existing pray for the teachers and the parents as we all plan for a new school year lord bless you and keep you safe mrs jeannine fuller principal[close]

june 2010 the rose page 2 the st rose golf outing continues to be one of our most popular and successful fundraisers this year the outing introduced a new venue segregansett country club in taunton ma the venue was a hit with our golfers it is a beautiful private course thank you to mark warrener the golf professional at segregansett and a father of two children in our school for securing this wonderful facility we were once again blessed with great weather thank you to all our golfers and diners for participating and for your continued generosity the outing raised just under $8,000 for the school if you did not attend be sure to add it to your things to do for next year it is a lot of fun thank you to lisa williams who chairs this event and to her committee lori lepizzera jennifer silvio jeannine warrener jill kazanjian kris hogan and greg silva for organizing the entire event and to the volunteers who help out on the day of the event nazira librizzi michelle torti chris walaska,heidi andrews and amy randall congratulations to the 8th grade graduates samantha brindamour ryan budzenski tyler davey mikaela dicomitis david egelhofer heston clare heston timothy hogan zachary johnson philip keefe kiah marcotte dan mason emily mcmahon john michalczyk david nunes raymond peterson benjamin wildenhain shappy joseph verdi brenden wildenhain we wish you all the best in your new high school destinations continue to work hard be positive and you will be successful in all you do scrip needs your help we have recently lost several of our regular scrip sales volunteers we greatly appreciated their months and years of help thank you now we are looking to expand our sales team how does our sales team work · we sell scrip cards at the church office after the saturday evening and after both sunday morning services capturing memories a special thank you to mrs nancy dunlap our second grade teacher for putting together the 2010 yearbook the book is a beautiful keepsake that our students will treasure thanks for all your hard work mrs dunlap and thank you to the parents who helped by submitting photos great job · a few minutes before mass ends the volunteer opens the office to prepare sells immediately following mass then closes up shop total time commitment is only about a half hour currently each volunteer sells at approximately one mass per month the more volunteers we have the less frequently each person will sell we schedule volunteers based on their individual mass preferences if you only attend 10:30 mass that is when you would be assigned · · school spirit store don t forget to order your gym clothes for the 2010/2011 school year from school store free shipping is available if you order by st 4pm on saturday july 31 www.saintroseschool.com your order will be available for pick up at the school by the end of august sound simple it is and what a quick and simple opportunity to support our school if you have any questions please call me at 401-7391664 or email me at deb.drech@verizon.net my inbox is empty and waiting for a flood of volunteers thank you deb drechnowicz scrip chair[close]
