fashionmonthly may 17 2012 the lark foundation gathered some statistical data on teen nutrition we created a survey consisting of ten questions that we sent to each high school student click here to see our survey we sent out to our target market 70 of our target market returned our survey the questions asked in our survey were geared toward understanding how healthy or unhealthy teens really are the results were quite astounding according to the survey there is a serious lack of physical activity the majority of teens surveyed indicated that they drive more than they walk the only time where walking is evident is in the summer many teens feel walking from class to class is enough exercise for one day exercising isn t our only concern but also unhealthy eating habits in our first survey question unhealthy eating habits among teens were quite obvious as shown in the chart below according to the first chart cookies and chips were shown to be the most common snack among teens this is due to the fact that cookies and chips are easy to obtain when on the go highlighted above is the option the majority of our student population chose view the other charts on this page to see results to a few other survey questions in another question as shown below we asked our student body to check all facets that led to their bad habits again as evidenced in the results not enough exercise and consuming junk food ranked high on their lists by gathering the information from our survey reinforced our belief that teens eat a substantial amount of junk food therefore the lark foundation was created we wanted to take the initiative in promoting a change in teen nutrition the change however we can t force but strongly encourage this website we believe will strongly influence a positive change in teen nutrition example question obesity is caused by many factors please choose all that you fall under · · · · overeating watching television while eating on a regular basis not getting enough exercise eating primarily junk food 4
