aldo pérez varela ic 2012 delegate application lcp 2010-2011 aiesec itam mc ogx director 2012 aiesec united states mcvp organizational development 2012-1013 aiesec méxico aldo.perez@aiesec.net 55 32 24 28 69 skype aldoche.israel degree of commitment to aiesec mexico bb 1000 if i had to put a number on it i d say that one click here to find out what this number is 2 how should we look in the global village global village is not only about fun and showing off it s also an opportunity to show the professionalism and excellence of our membership i would combine three elements 1 coordination and sync among delegates 2 quality 3 appeal if we look coordinated that is we all look similar enough people will understand that we are a delegation ready to gsd during the conference and that we are not going to be new to ic understanding how to work with other delegations and how to match generate partnerships and so on secondly by quality i mean all we can do to make people fall in love with mexico from the moment ic starts in gv this is to have everything from food to decoration but also support from external organizations e.g ing sponsors almost always the dutch delegation i d strive to reach for mexican global brands that are strongly national that would support us financially to attend ic for example telmex invests in formula 1 marketing a global positioning market as the leading telecommunications company in latin america so does tequila cuervo and we can do market research to find many more also support from the government from our tourism board and our chambers of commerce and promexico i m sure we can get support if we reach out to them in the following weeks.

third by appeal i mean that we must use a folkorical image but at the same time something that people want to relate with we could easily go as indigenous natives but this would portray a country that is undeveloped mariachi for example is a cool image as it is representative of our music and it is globally recognized many things relate to mexico but not all are positive i would try to avoid shouts like tequila tequila as people could associate aiesec mexico more to being drunk and partying than to work and performance what would we say if a soviet country shouted vodka vodka or the us beer beer why would colombians shout we re the number one delegation instead 3 what is ic about ic is about coordinating the global network and strategy depletion as opposed to our other international event ipm where it is about strategy generation during it aiesec international launches initiatives delegates hold discussions on global and regional strategy and the global plenary takes decisions that affect our programs and operations each ic is different india for example focused in the generation of the 2015 vision kenya on the other hand was focused on the implementation of the programs and the launch of the new myaiesec.net it s common for ic to always have leadership development and regional connection sessions 4 in one phrase or two what is mexico s goal for ic 2012 gain aiesec country branding and bring back relationships partnerships rich strategic content and practical knowledge for our local operations externally gain a position among the network means that they will want to work with us talk to us share their gcps invite us to chair their conferences come to our conferences apply to our mc s take mexicans in their mc s send their eps to our tns and take our eps in their tns we reach this by being a coordinated professional and prepared delegation internally aiesec mexico wants to gain as much as possible from other countries to lead the performance among the region and the network we want to understand and share ideas that make our organization the best among aiesec countries this has to do with both global alignment and gcp sharing we must target however to bring back the most useful local strategies possible as they are the core and our bottomline 5 what are mexico s priorities to capitalize from ic 2012 we have several priorities that we can only get from ic strategic operational and instrumental i d rank them in that order precisely specifically like this:

1 strategy 2015 programs policies understanding these will be released during ic 2012 including using the net promoter score as our official mos for tmp and tlp 2 strategy 2015 ewa activities understanding and new global standardization e.g y2b will be a global standard now regulated and required more activities will be introduced as well 3 operational igip cooperations igip is the hardest program to grow and the one that uses best cooperations so it goes first we must target high profile it provides such as poland india brazil and colombia 4 operational ogcdp cooperations ogcdp already grows fast but we need to improve our match/raised ratio and for such cooperations coupled with packaged xp s come are key 5 operational igcdp cooperations we need spanish speakers and they re in demand besides brazil is taking almost all of gcdp ep spanish speakers so cooperations are key for us 6 operational ogip cooperations we can target specific degrees and schools for potential gip country partners mainly for ap and cee in the it sector 7 instrumental positioning in the network as mentioned before 8 instrumental alumni connections with key global players 9 instrumental global partner connections with the ai team 6 what do you think happens or should happen in a cy meeting in my international conference experience they should follow the next steps i ve done this in kenya 1 identify potential supply and demand complementation e.g while the us has agricultural sciences potential mexico has agricultural sciences companies let s say monsanto potential to sell as we have that company and other similar ones targeted for this of course we must have ready our market segmentation we can know in advance what countries might have the potential to deliver 2 define industry target 3 define timeline for raising matching and realizing 4 discuss bottlenecks 5 assign partnership responsibles from both countries and agree on communication channels we can use podio or facebook for this for example usually this agreement is between mcvp s exchange but it also happens between nst s 6 schedule periodic partnership follow-up meetings this is hard with different time zones i have to say that despite not having an exchanger role i might have more experience than other candidates in setting this up 7 how does ic 2012 fit in your career plan i might apply for mcp next year if i attend ic it is likely that i find the motivation and ideas necessary to increase my potential success next year i might also not apply for mcp and still attending ic would make sense for my cp as i could take an mc abroad instead of staying in mexico again or even apply to ai 8 budget for attending ic concept cost who covers?

for these with our vp s exchange in advance will make ic an excellent platform to finally execute exchange cooperations successfully in mexico which has never been done before despite most top performer countries work with them single-handedly i can easily coordinate with our target countries the respective meetings because i know how meetings work and i know how to prepare us as a delegation to impress and get the most out of it as chief delegate as well if allowed mcp pipeline probability as stated before if i was elected mcp 2013-2014 it would be likely that having attended ic was an advantage but of course this equally applies to everybody else in the country i m just mentioning it as it is my possible intention to apply 10 what are the opportunities of cooperation with mexico for the term 2012-2013 we must prepare a solid answer as a delegation before the conference the most important part of the answer is the exchange plan to do that we need to define our market targeting with as much precision as possible for both tn and eps we must be able to respond in the end something like this we will have 270 tn s for english speakers for the summer 100 tn s for general gcdp profile and 20 tn s for it students from europe also we are planning on recruiting 150 ep s with teaching background of spanish 400 eps with general interest in social issues for third sector gcdp tns and 120 industrial engineers we are also partnering with peru to run a recruitment of 3 rd year students of architecture so you can jump in too if you can raise architecture tns other than that we must have knowledge and printed material about the following mexico s 50th anniversary plan and opportunities for other countries to join the celebration target companies that we have in the pipeline to find how other entities are working with them and work up our relationship and sales list of conferences internationals can attend list of pipeline members for mc abroad 11 rocking phrase remember chiqui-ti-búm a-la bim-bom-bá mexico mexico ra-ra-ra let s transform it to going-to the-top we-will ne-ver-stop mexico mexico never stop
