dear neighbors it sure has been a strange winter and spring it almost feels like summer has been here for months already i ve been at the park district for 21 years and this was the first winter we had no outdoor ice skating just when we thought we might get a cold week that would freeze the ground to hold water the next day it was 50 degrees the same was true for our cross country skiing snow shoeing and snowball events while missing out on cold weather activities was frustrating for some i have to say the warm spring has been enjoyable we were able to open the golf course earlier than ever before and with record warmth and crowds it s been nice to see so many people back outside enjoying the sunshine we put many of the tennis nets back up at our outdoor courts so residents could get back to their outdoor game early we ve also started cutting grass and grooming parks earlier than ever our biggest project over the winter was remodeling the restaurant at coyote run golf course in the past the park district has contracted out the restaurant business to a third party but now we are running it ourselves we re-opened on march 17th as wiley s grill under park district management we hired a new manager martin henry and a full staff who are ready to impress with a new menu full bar brighter and more modern decor and fabulous customer service one of my favorite summer things is to enjoy the sunset on the patio overlooking the golf course it s just so relaxing after a long day at work or on the weekends you can see photos of the changes on our website coyoterungolf.com please stop by to try us out whether you prefer summer at coyote run wiley s grill lions club pool irons oaks or at any of our many other parks and facilities i hope you get a chance to relax and enjoy we ve got many programs to choose from this season some brand new and some old favorites regardless of your choices we hope to see you often register early nothing kills a good program more quickly than waiting until the last minute to register at some point a decision must be made on whether to cancel a program due to lack of enrollment when waiting until the last minute to register you may find that the program has already been cancelled please register early to help ensure the program you want to participate in runs as advertised welcome registration is easy phone call 708-957-0300 or 708-957-7275 for credit-card registrations only tdd 711 in person register at any park district facility mail drop-off registration forms can be dropped off or mailed to the goldberg center online visit hfparks.com and register with our real-time program webtrac fax complete the registration form in this brochure and fax to 708-957-8574 board of commissioners the board of commissioners meets at 7 p.m on the third tuesday of each month at the goldberg center meetings are at 8 p.m during may june july its members are left to right vice president sue bertram bob haderlein dallas collins pat nevins and president steve johnson debbie kopas executive director register online in real time at hfparks.com 3
