phone 358-5204 26 april 2012 cellphone 027-362-5008 email ­ office@milson.school.nz website ­www.milson.school.nz fax 358-2697 no 2012/11 p ­ positivity/participation r ­ respect/responsibility i ­ individuality/integrity d ­ determination e ­ empathy/excellence principal s comment welcome back to term 2 hopefully this wonderful weather will continue for the first month this term vicki in the office is away so our wonderful linda will be running the office for the mornings helped by jill joule and in the afternoons nicola will be there please take into account there may be some issues they may not know the answer immediately but we will follow up as soon as possible to assist you term 2 is now well under way and classes are quickly back into routine with many events to look forward to later this term we have our school cross country for all pupils we have visiting performers coming up for all children as well as totara and rata teams visiting freyberg high school in a fortnight to see their production of annie a group will also be involved at the northern cluster arts festival later in the term more information to follow we also have block 2 of our ptp conferences coming up in week 3 for some y1-3 parents ­ along with our first conferences for all year 4-6 parents a separate note will come about this shortly so you can book in conference times for this late in 2011 we held a community/whanau weekend gathering where a lot of useful information was gathered from those participating to help us look at school direction etc we want to now share some of this information with you and to look at ways to make use of this information we are holding a coffee and biscuit session on thursday afternoon 3.15 pm in staffroom for all interested participants to meet and look at these findings this will be for a relatively short time and we would like your participation if at all possible when ­ thursday 3rd may 3.15 pm in staffroom melody s new world are running a sponsorship programme in conjunction with the upcoming olympic games to get involved you can grab a pledge card from the customer service counter at melody s new world broadway ave and every time you spend $25 or more there get your pledge card stamped by a supervisor when you complete the card take it to the customer service counter to pledge your gold medal to our school every gold medal placed on the track in store gets $1.00 for milson school you will be able to see how we are getting on rata pride assemblies are held on every second thursday at 2:25pm in the hall these are hosted by a different class each assembly and parents are welcome to attend these classes will be leading the assemblies in term 2 wk 3 sweet 16 wk 5 super 17 wk 7 fear factor 15 wk 9 incredible 9 on tuesday 8 may kath bee will be performing for the school the cost of the performance is $3.50 and is covered by activity fees if your child has not paid their activity fees please send $3.50 to your child s class teacher in a labelled envelope by monday 7th may community/whanau feedback session melody s go for gold rata pride assemblies kath bee children s singer/songwriter
