group 1 equipment jam jar cotton wool shallot bulbs water what we did we took two shallot bulbs and looked for the roots we peeled a shallot to look at the inside ­ this is the stem and leaves we placed two shallot bulbs in a jam jar with cotton wool we put one upside down and one the right way up finally we added water to the cotton and placed them on the windowsill our prediction we think a stem will emerge from the opposite end to the roots the one that is upside down should try to go upwards it might go round the bottom of the jar or it might bend round and then grow up to the light louis kyle millie g michael joshua emily anna

group 2 equipment egg shells cotton wool tin foil cress seeds what we did we put a face on our egg shells then we put some cotton wool in our egg shells secondly we separated our eggs into four different groups thirdly we put some water in and now we will observe what happens to them our prediction we predict that the cress head with fertiliser in will grow the tallest the one which will probably grow the second tallest will be the one with the hat on the cress head with 40 seeds will grow the third tallest the one with 20 seeds will grow the least tall kerry matthew r benjamin imogen jessica tom thomas dylan megan w and william

group 3 equipment potato cotton wool square container what we did we cut out a square of cotton wool then we put the cotton wool in the plastic dish we cut an eye off the potato and put it on top of the cotton wool in the dish we added a little bit of water and chose a place to put it in the classroom where we thought it would grow our prediction we think the potatoes will grow because they like to grow in the dark and they will have heat and warmth too matthew b ben hannah will p megan b benjamin eleanor millie s.
