dear teachers this project can be utilized in a variety of ways it can be sent home as a family involvement project it can be completed in class as an independent study or center project it can be completed whole group with your class or it can be an enrichment project to keep your early finishers busy extending their minds however you choose to utilize this project you should give your students expectations guidelines and deadlines when the project is handed out as this will give students all the tools they need in order to be successful there is an included grading rubric that may be used or tweaked to give you a grade that will reflect what your expectations are for the project if you choose to use this rubric it should also be reviewed with students prior to students beginning the project i hope this project and it s rubric will be helpful to you and your students sincerely heidi raki teacher/author ©2010 raki s rad resources http rakiradresources.wordpress.com

name president project during the next month you will be completing a project about american presidents at the end of the month you will be asked to present your project to your classmates first you will answer the questions about the president of your choice on the research sheet then you will complete a project there are 9 different ways that you can choose to complete this project you will only complete one of these choices choice #1 create an glog about your president using the website www.edu.glogster.com include all of the information from your research sheet and at least one picture of your president create a booklet of all of the places that were important in your president s life write at least one sentence explaining why this place was important to him and one sentence explaining why the event that happened there was important to society choice #2 choice #3 create a biography channel documentary on your president write out all of the important information to be shared about his/her life put it in chronological order and gather pictures to go with it if you can video tape the whole thing and share with the class pretend that your president is going to speak at your school the principal has asked you to introduce him write a speech to your fellow students that will introduce your person as a speaker try to include some of the information from your research sheet choice #4 write a letter to your president thanking him for all the things he did/does to help people try to include some choice #5 choice #6 of the information from your research sheet create a timeline of important events in your president s life include at least 8 events write at least one sentence explaining why this event was important to his/her or to society choice #7 create a song or a rap that tells why your president was so important to american history the song or rap must make sense have rhythm and explain all the important facts choice #8 create a video or audio cd of your music or be prepared to perform the music in class pretend you are interviewing your president for the news create a list of your questions and his responses be sure to ask him about how his childhood influenced his adult life if you can get a friend to pretend to be your person and act it out for the class or video tape it and share with the class way can you come up with to share what you ve learned about your person write one paragraph describing what you want to do and get it approved by your teacher then complete your project your way choice #9 free choice what creative ©2010 raki s rad resources http rakiradresources.wordpress.com
