SLAM Official Supplier to Yachting New Zealand All Blacks represents a people, a country, and a sporting Icon. All Blacks is a term that refers to New Zealand rugby team, who represent their culture and traditions, which differ from those of the old continent but to which all athletes can connect. Our partnership with Yachting New Zealand has inspired us to design a collection that is naturally in line with the distinct character of the New Zealanders, defined by resoluteness, spirit of independence, and creativity. A bold yet elegant collection that could only be black and white and with the silver Koru fern (a symbol of birth, spiritual rebirth, and regeneration), which appears in a stylized version on all the garments of the collection. From Genoa, an ancient Marine Republic, SLAM reaches out to Oceania, in the South Pacific, to the lands of the Maori, great seafaring people who travelled from Polynesia for thousands of kilometers on double-hulled canoes (the wakas), guided by the stars, currents, and the flight of birds. This seafaring tradition defined by discoveries and challenges is what has linked the Italian style of SLAM to Yachting New Zealand. Nowadays, one out of seven New Zealanders owns a sailboat and Auckland is popularly knows as the “City of Sails”. Cap Belt NZL Sailing Team SLAM is honored to be a partner of Yachting New Zealand, the prestigious, winning NZL sailing team. In any high level race there is always a Kiwi team, and it always ranks among the first. Sailing evolves but there is always a New Zealand team competing in the most important races around the world as the team to beat. America’s Cup, Volvo Ocean Race, and Xtreme 40 are the pinnacle of sailing culture that grows with young people so as to bring top champions into the sailing world each year.
