introduction gpp is software application which allows you to record crucial information and statistics about your golf rounds and to use gps facility in a course to detect distances and shot lenghts to calculate distances the software needs the mapping of a course gpp offer you a wide choice of mapped courses worldwide by the phone you can download it easily however if your course is not available or you want a more specific mapping of the holes you can map a course yourself by the phone directly on the course or through google maps google earth facilities sending to us the kml file with your mapping to the email address promae.amministrazione@gmail.com in few days you will find it available to download on the phone once you did download best choices courses golf practice pro don t need anymore of a sim card to work but it uses only the gps facilities of the phone p 3

the available phones gpp has been deeply tested through nokia 5800 os 5th version and nokia 603 os 3 symbian belle version phones the differences of behaviour in the two phones are minimal and are concerning the menu bar in the bottom of the screen the 5th version shows the options and back buttons the figures of the manual comes from the 5th version options in the left for select an item of the menu back in the right to come back to the previous window the 3 symbian belle version shows two graphich button see in the figure the right one is equivalent to the options while the left one is equivalent to the back one p 4

help setup gpp offer you a useful help to know directly on the phone main software features first of all update your playing handicap to correctly sign your score in the same framework you can check gps facilities and bootstrap them if needed p 6

shot distance gpp measures the distance of your shots by the recording of the start and the end position of your ball press the button start when you are ready to measure the start position of your shot gpp elaborates in few seconds an algorithm to optimise the precision of your gps facilities plaese wait until a message warns when the procedure is concluded p 7

please take care of the precision warnings of gps quality could be low or good to conclude the measure you must repeat the same procedure by clicking the button stop in the position where the ball is arrived because of the shot after the optimisation of the measure error gpp displays the best measure of you shot p 8

score statistics gpp allows you to record your score and main playing statistics gpp opens the score window where you have to insert to each hole the par the handicap of the hole and the number of played strokes though the button displayed in the window note before to start with the score recordings don t forget to update your playing handicap if needed through the setup window if you want to end the recording later or you have to switch off the phone you have to recall the last visit data in the score archive p 9

statistics with the options menu gpp opens the statistics windows where you can insert the number of put possible bunker shots and penalties and if you hit the green in regulation and if the tee shot was in fairway the statistics are automatically update when a buttons allows to navigate between holes p 10

archive from the options menu of statistics gpp opens the archive of the score the application allows to save the recorded data in a file to select a file from the database or to resume the data of the last recordings in case you close accidentally the application or for battery problems archive options menu save the score to facilitate the archive management every score card file is named with the date and the time of the recording the writing of a short message helps to add useful playing info p 11

select old score gpp displays a window with the summary of the score this allows to select a file which can be deleted or saved as the current score card for further analyses or modifications by the options menu restore last visit data furthermore gpp allows to load the backup of the last score card unsaved before to exit from gpp both for accidental or battery problems p 12

distance distance calculates the distance with the hole or a different reference point mappend on the course for example the green border or a dedicated pin position the course can be mapped by you or downloaded through the mobile phone by internet gpp makes available on the net a wide choice of course with the position of the green center if your favourite course is not available you can map yourself by the mobile phone or through google maps or google earth facilities and mail the course in kml format to promae.amministrazione @gmail.com starting from the distance window once you select the button with the playing hole in few seconds gpp calculates your distance with the green center or the selected reference point p 13
