from crisis to blessing by tamara elizabeth out of every crisis comes the chance to be reborn ­ nena o neil o n the journey of life each of us from time to time experience crisis from different life changing events and transitions a crisis can be defined as a particular stage in a sequence of events which is expected to lead to an unstable or very dangerous situation affecting an individual group community or whole society it is known as a turning point we travel through most crisis with as much skill and ease as the tools we have been given when i look back over the last fifty years of my life there were many occasions which i had to step up to the plate and thus these events have somehow carved out the woman i am today i ve worn many hats in fact enough to fill my own millinery shop each role has led me to a series of challenging transitions several lessons and celebrated times 3

your unique imprint by lezlyn parker w omen are amazing we work parent volunteer try to maintain relationships multi-taskers of extraordinary skill right yes until we wake up one morning and realize that we are simply put exhausted in that moment the idea of chugging through another day is more than we can bear and you know the best kept secret about this exhaustion it s happening to women all around us just the other day i had a call from a woman who was at her end point and was looking for coaching she and her husband were recent empty nesters but an emotional gulf was growing between them her adult children took advantage of her because she struggled to set boundaries with them and her career had stalled leaving her in a different place than she had envisioned for this season of her life she was exhausted and yearning for a different life that included healthier relationships with her family and a fresh approach toward her career oh how my heart ached for this dear woman i remember so well the times when i felt the weariness of life overtake me too i lost 4

forget not from where you came by rosalind y tompkins i was sitting in the visiting room of a state correctional facility in georgia after having just performed a bitter sweet wedding ceremony for one of my members a dear sister filled with wide eyed optimism and faith believing for a miracle saying how can you not get caught up in the intoxication of fresh love and hope even in the midst of barbed wired fences cement walls and prison doors as i sat there in the midst of the conversation that had quickly turned to talk of alcohol and partying lifestyles the mother of the groom said to her children please remember that we have a pastor among us i without hesitation opened my mouth to join in for the first time with the words don t worry i ve been there there was a hush that went over the room as all eyes turned to me as i sat there in my kay barry original black and red robe with a red cross sashayed across my right shoulder and i said yeah i talk about it in my first book as long as there is breath in your body there is hope how i went 5
