training services 10 development is fundamentally about change personal organisational and social change facilitated by processes of learning in the context of development learning aims at behavioural changes through active involvement in acquiring insights and competencies in designing its training courses mdf systematically applies the principles of the adult learning cycle of kolb this cycle has four major steps experiencing processing generalising and applying the trainer often starts with methods that recall or provide participants with experiences doing seeing something during processing the participants reflect on their experiences in the generalising phase lessons are learnt in the applying phase the trainer facilitates how these lessons can be applied in the real life of the participants sustainable learning programmes deliver a long lasting and measurable impact on the knowledge skills and attitudes of participants we aim to design programmes materials and delivery methods in such a way that subjects are relevant and later applicable for our participants who are invited to participate actively and use their capabilities constantly we seek to deliver our courses in a safe yet challenging environment while offering variation in training methods and making use of feedback we see the trainer as a change agent the trainer s role is to present information or skills or to create an environment in which exploration can take place this way it is more likely that participants at the end of the course are confident and eager to apply what they have learned experiencing doing/seeing something applying using the insights processing reflecting analysing generalising abstracting from experience to life
