why do electronics need these four conflict minerals · they use these four conflict minerals mainly because none of the electronics would work · gold is used for the wiring on your phone gold is also the top highest value mineral in our electronics today · tungsten is used for vibration on your phone if you didn t have this then your phone wouldn t vibrate · tantalum is used to have your phone and your other electronic device have sound without the mineral then it would be silent · tin s main job is to circuit the board or keyboard of your electronic device without this then your phone wouldn t work properly.

process of mining refining and use of conflict minerals · there s a group called the militia that runs the mines with the people in the group · once they find the conflict minerals that they need they smuggle the minerals through routes that people hardly use such as uganda · the militia then sell some of their products to other groups to get the money to get it through some of the checkpoints · once their through they send the minerals on boats to places to be refined such as thailand asia and china · once they get refined their processes to places all over the world such as the u.s and their built into the technology we used today it doesn t seem bad yet.

the bad · the militia are very known for the war that started around 1998 during the process of mining and reefing the females were punished for not listening to the militia army and were either raped killed or both if you were against what they were doing then you were killed didn t matter who you were or how old you were · they didn t just use these conflict minerals for money they used them to get weapons so that their army was strong through it all.
