in many american tables the turkey is still the pride of place for thanksgiving in the u.s alone more than 40 million turkeys are eaten during this holiday weekend each year it is usually accompanied by the sauce and filling thanksgiving is the traditional dish for many sweet potatoes add sugar spices and butter in a pan shot and sometimes with mauve other vegetarian dishes salads followed by the traditional pumpkin pie and whipped cream in many families the end of a traditional thanksgiving retreat to a comfortable chair to loosen the belt!
