when the taj mahal was built the taj mahal was made by shan jahan and 22,000 people for is wife mumtaz mumtaz sadly died in 1629a.d shan jahan started building the taj mahal in 1634 a.d and continued for nearly 22years the taj mahal was then finished in 1654 a.d it was built in agra india on the banks of the river yamuna.

the black taj mahal there is a story that another taj mahal was built but not in white in black and on the other side of the river yamuna geronimo veroneo italian was thought to of designed the taj mahal but actually shan jahan and his men designed it some important studies have researched the taj mahal and found that it is sinking it is also the most beautiful monument in india.

the taj mahal cost 2millon dollars and is made out of white marble stone precious gems and stones pressed into walls mumtaz s funeral was a grand funeral which took place in 1631 a.d elephants got decorated with gold and velvet clothing mumtaz was born in april 1953a.d unfortunately mumtaz died in june 17 1631a.d mumtaz died while giving birth to her 14th child in the late 1630 she and shan jahan took a holiday in deccan plateau little did she know that would be the last holiday she and shan jahan would ever take because 6 months later she died.

mumtaz and shan jahan had a very quiet and loving marriage people asked her and shan whether they could make poets about his and her marriage the poets expressed mumtaz s beauty grace and compassion not only was she his wife she was his trusted companion who travelled everywhere with him mumtaz wasn t shan jahans only wife he had two more before that but mumtaz was his most loyal beautiful and caring wife the thing was he never told mumtaz that until she was dyeing he told her really late because his other wives were friends with mumtaz and if his other wives found out they might of hurt mumtaz or her children apart from loving her husband and caring for him she watched elephant fights and helped care or the riverside garden in agra.

shan jahan wasn t always called shan jahan he was also called the prince khurram shan jahan was born in 1592 one time when he walked down the road he caught a glimpse of mumtaz they say it was love at first sight at the time mumtaz was known as the arjumand banyu begum and was always dressed in jewels and glass beads mumtaz came from a very rich family like shan jahan when he saw her he was 14 and she was 15 and a muslim persian princess after meeting her he went home and declared she married him five years later in 1612 mumtaz s father finally agreed and they married later in 1638 shan jahan became emperor although he had other wives he adored mumtaz more even in the year 1631 when she died giving birth to her 14th child he loved her his 14th child was his last and his most favourite he cherished her and said it looked exactly like mumtaz while mumtaz was on her deathbed he promised her he would never remarry and would build the richest mausoleum over her grave shan jahan ended up being so upset he mourned for up to two years after a little while he decided he had to do something so he built the taj mahal for mumtaz when shan jahan died in 1666 he was placed in a tomb next to mumtaz.
