c ommuni ty leg acy to rej uvena te a n eig hbor ho o d san francisco 2016 will accelerate the revitalization of bayview/hunters point and leave a green village in the middle of the city the olympic village at hunters point will be built as a model of sustainable communities by building structures for the olympic village that would be converted into 3,000 affordable housing units after the games by creating village common spaces that would become neighborhood facilities including schools community parks and swimming pools by gathering state and federal support to bring mass-transit infrastructure into hunters point unlocking its potential by using state-of-the-art environmental technologies and materials and by building alternative energy power generation into the site by creating expansive california plazas with tree-lined green belts and public spaces inside the village and using the resources of the city and state to create parks and community infrastructure beyond the perimeter of the village 13 nov 06
