dear gator alley membership hope everyone had a blessed thanksgiving thanks to ethel and her team a lot of people in our community including some of our chapter members had a better thanksgiving than they anticipated great job ethel i m proud to have been a part of your effort see her report on the run starting in december we will have a climate controlled storage unit for our history items this will help keep pictures trophies etc in good condition we have lost a few things to humidity and mold in the past thanks to rick and tina loy for stepping up as chair for the casino run in april 2012 and to their co-chair christine strobel the events list is printed in the newsletter with the chairperson and month of each event you can plan ahead for next year and pick a run that suits your schedule you will get all the help you need special events secretary and me all participate in some way in every event we do we can `walk you through it so to speak we don t want to burn anyone out by having the same people volunteering for everything chairing or working on an event or a run is a great way to get to know members who are not in your immediate circle of friends and we always have a good time while benefiting the chapter a reminder that the next chapter meeting is december 18th and the board of director s meeting is december 15th see you at the heritage run on december 4th sincerely ruth kalvin public relations advertising executive happy holidays to everyone we are staying pretty much on an even keel losing some and gaining others i would like to remind everyone of our members that we are all p/r people for gator alley take the extra flyers or newsletters with you after the meetings and pass them out invite new people to attend our events so they will get to know us and what we stand for the news paper s and news media people have their own agenda and sometimes why will pay attention and sometimes not we just keep letting them know what we are doing we do have a new advertiser which a lot of us can use after the holidays crunch fitness thanks also to our good people whom renewed their ads please support these people it s the little guy that keeps this great country going keep the rubber down sach page 4 www gatoralley.net

hey y`all hope everyone had a great turkey day with your family or loved ones for those that missed the run n gobble you missed a really good one ethel went that extra mile kudo`s to her and her crew we finally got a cpr instructor that can certify us in cpr for $30 adult and child or $40 that will also include the aed training so if anyone is interested feel free to call me to sign up cathy got us patches for tom wakefield anyone wanting a patch just contact me they will be $6.00 that`s about it for this month cuz i`m just not very good at writing hope y`all have a great holiday with friends and family god bless crabby ps remember january 27th bike night and blood drive at everglades cycle arthur davidson in heaven arthur davidson of the harley davidson motorcycle corporation died and went to heaven at the gates st peter told arthur since you ve been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world your reward is you can hang out with anyone you want in heaven arthur thought about it for a minute and then said i want to hang out with god st peter took arthur to the throne room and introduced him to god arthur then asked god hey aren t you the inventor of woman god said oh yes well said arthur professional to professional you have some major design flaws in your invention 1 there is too much inconsistency in the front-end protrusion 2 it chatters constantly at high speeds 3 most of the rear ends are too soft and wobble too much 4 the intake is placed way too close to the exhaust and finally 5 the maintenance costs are outrageous hmmm you may have some good points there replied god hold on god went to his celestial super computer typed in a few words and waited for the results the computer printed out a slip of paper and god read it well it may be true that my invention is flawed god said to arthur but according to these numbers more men are riding my invention then yours abate of florida gator alley chapter page 5

gator alley general meeting minutes november 27th 2011 meeting called to order at 11:00 a.m please stand for the pledge of allegiance moment of silence president report ruth the board decided to get the climate control storage for the historian items the december chapter meeting will be december 18th and bod meeting december 15th 5-star meeting went very well do we want pins or patches vote taken we are staying with the pins need a chair person for the casino run in april rick tina will chair and christine will co-chair bike week campground they are asking each chapter to donate bottles of liquor vice-president crabby thanked everyone who showed up for the run gobble at the 5-star meeting they talk about moving it they came up with the peace river campground it will be around the same time as this year secretary ethel entertained a motion that minutes are accepted as printed in newsletter motion made by frizz 2nd by tony motion carried ruth recognized new members and guest treasurer scarlett gave balance if anyone would like to see the spread sheet or check book please see her after meeting lynn introduced our guest speaker tim nance he is running for dist 5 collier county commissioner seat in august of next year he gave background information he gave us some of his concerns and goals he will be talking with us more in the future sgt at arms frank he thanked the family of roberto bobby vasquez vp of the latino motorcycles club lama and a life member of abate he lost his battle with cancer and will be missed by his family and friends jack west former member and local entertainer a get well card for ending up in the hospital over veteran s day weekend with bleeding ulcers no more soda for him he was well enough to attend the run and gobble and is back to work educating the young uns and supporting his kids in their football games stay well jack you ve still got lots of entertaining to do karen kirkum a get well card for the tendon release surgery she had to have on two fingers of her right hand all went well and the healing has begun she ll be back to speed typing crocheting and bar room brawling for the holidays just kidding but i am sure she is glad to be free from the pain and restriction of carpel tunnel it s no picnic in the park ann davis gw s mom a thinking of you card as she is dealing with stage 4 cancer the monday after the meeting she was headed to moffet in tampa for treatment please keep her and their family in your prayers she has attended the birthday party for several years and always enjoyed the food music games and company and a shout out to past members who have moved out of state tammy brennan former ga and estero river bod member best wishes on her neck surgery and recovery in the dc area angie peanut haagus get well soon after her tonsillectomy in tn may both ladies have excellent results and good health after for those that do not remember or know these ladies they did a lot for gator alley and abate when they lived here and i am happy to be able to keep in touch with them via facebook to all of gator alley and our sister chapters may the blessings of the holidays bring each person joy and laughter peace and hope health and happiness may the spirit of kindness and goodness be with us all year long i don t want to get too santa-mental here but don t over do it with the christmas decorations ya might get tinsil-itis merry christmas and happy new year from my family to yours respectfully submitted by margo fuoco r u rdy if you re into text messaging which i really am not this title may be a message you receive on your cell phone it also seems to be what all the stores are asking in their commercials as they try to get your every last dime before christmas of course they won t say christmas it will be holiday season so it isn t offensive to anyone except christians but we all know this is when we celebrate the birth of our lord and savior jesus christ the only reason for christmas what better gift could we receive or give for christmas than this christ child he was our gift from god by whom we might gain eternal life by belief in him and his resurrection and he is also the gift you can give to others you know that may be living in sin tell them of the love jesus has for them and the salvation available if they will turn their lives around and accept him as we re told in part in ephesians 5:5 for of this you can be sure no immoral impure or greedy person has any inheritance in the kingdom of christ and of god so again i ask r u rdy r ur frnds ga chaplain abate of florida gator alley chapter page 9

first of all i would like to thank ethel for giving my report last month october the following is the report that was omitted from last months newsletter secondly i would like to thank tim nance for speaking at our chapter meeting we had a great turn out for a holiday weekend i want to remind everyone that we are giving members the option to not receive their newsletter in the mail but to be notified when it is available on line please email me or membership and let us know if you want opt out each month we get more and more people opting out thank you remember tallahassee run is coming soon if you are going please let me know so we can have a plan of attack so to say i do know that lockdown lady harley darrin myself fred and rusty are going if i listened correctly tommy byers and tony nager is also going how about you last months report legislative the florida joint legislative auditing committee has stated that is will not require abate of florida to submit to a second audit as requested by rep bryan nelson r-apopka the representative wanted to know how the state funds were allocated for our motorcycle safety awareness program it was declared that abate of florida inc was in full compliance with the state contract and did nothing wrong after pleading guilty on sept 19thm former public defender bruce duncan was sentenced to 10yrs and 4 months to a state prison 3 yrs probation lifetime loss of drivers license and $5,00 for drunk driving and killing biker herbert steve muller back in 2009 house bill hb 299 would ban texting while driving this states that anyone who drives and manually types or enters multiple numbers symbols or other characters in a wireless device would be in violation this would not include using your device for navigation watch a bill being submitted by sen dockery this bill would prevent a legislator to profit from a vote that they would cast she has tried to file this bill for 5 years and it has been turned down we believe this bill would prevent conflict of interest votes newsletter please make sure all reports are in on tuesday you can always turn them in after the board meeting and before the chapter meeting if you like sorry about the lack of pictures for the man and woman of the year there will be some in the next newsletter if zeke is able to get them to me if you took some pictures of the birthday party please share if you have events that need to be on the calendar please let me know i will do my best to get as much on as i can the classifieds are renewed each month if you have something you want to sell no businesses get it to me by tuesday reminder please let me know if you are some of the many who read their newsletter online and would prefer not to get it in the mail you can email me or let ethel know at the meeting enjoy your holidays lynn corr legislative trustee and newsletter editor page 10 www gatoralley.net

state delagate report san antonio fl oct 9 2011 meeting called to order at 2:10 pm presidents report doc talked about new abate help line for ptsd suffers ask all members to reach out to anyone in need concerning this disorder marilyn gonzalez spoke about issue with $4000 insurance policy members were being contacted in an aggressive manner by insurance company if this happens to a member please contact her trike regulations were discussed if you have a motorcycle endorsement you can drive a tryke if not you must take tryke/sidecar test secretary report a correction was made jim burrow from alachua said doc was asking for ideas for legislation i asked that we consider making it mandatory when someone gets a ticket for doing something to a biker that as a part of the sentence they be required to take our motorcycle safety awareness program and pay for it bob alexander changed his personal email and wants anyone that wants to contact him please use his state secretary account public relations lockdown reminded us to make sure all press releases are printed in the newsletter he also reminded all members to go to the state web site to stay informed on all new business sergeant at arms mudder reminded all chapters about getting inventory reports turned in to state asked for volunteers for bike week .handed out new safety banner to be used at all abate sponsored events state office wants all drawing tickets turned in asap masterlink bob von bulow said that input to masterlink is backlogged and if you don t get your input in its not forgotten safety brenda wants products ordered close to state meeting times so arrangements can be made to distribute them to other local chapters also safety certification can be done at state meeting please make reservations products steve knee states that the name bars are now available no minimum reminds members products make great xmas gifts legislation darrin brooks discussed bills of interest he urged members to respond to call to action blasts by either participating or at least contacting the interested people strength in numbers legal counsel larry informed us of the ongoing legal battles involving discrimination against several bikers wearing colors go to the state website for more info bike week was a big topic abate of florida inc will be hosting the bar at the event and is asking for unopened bottles of liquor bottles must have tax stamp so no military discount bottles allowed tally was discussed mostly the weather being an issue doc asked for all chapters to do their best attending this very important event finally the leadership seminars were discussed the overall feeling is that they are a good training tool so they will continue don t forget bike week raffle tickets and lets all go to tally next state meeting is december 10,2011,hosted by treasure coast chapter palm bay hope to see you there until next time aloha submitted by wing nut aka rusty www gatoralley.net page 11
